Hello straightbourbon, I am headed to Nashville today for a Blackhawks Predators game tomorrow night. What are some restaurants/bars in the Nashville area that you recommend?  Any favorite liquor stores?

Thanks! (And Go Hawks!!)

Highly recommend The Southern.  Great bar/food and wide selection.

Just checked them out online, most of their higher end wine (and bourbon) is greatly over priced! $28 for EC barrel proof, $110 for Sequoia Grove cab!!!

I appreciate the suggestion though!

Jimmy Kelleys is the best steakhouse in town. Go there and you won't be disappointed. I haven't lived there in 20 years but when I have the opportunity it's where I go.

Kayne Prime for steaks

Whiskey Kitchen for burgers/pizza/fish and chips and great bourbon selection

The Pour House for burgers and great bourbon selection. Frugal MacDoogal is next door, a very decent liquor store.

Main Street liquor in East Nashville always has excellent store selects and Woodland Wine Merchant has a nice Four Roses SS right now.

Husk can be hit or miss.  The Southern is one of my favorites.  Patterson House for drinks is excellent but you need reservations. tim

Acme Feed & Seed is a fun, interesting spot downtown.  They used to regularly have Elmer T Lee, but I might have drunk it all.  The food is great, and they usually have live (non-C&W) music.

Some of the other suggestions here are great.  Husk is usually good, and Kayne does great steaks.  I've been to Jimmy Kelley's a handful of times and never enjoyed it much.

My favorite whiskey store in the area was in Franklin (20-30 minutes south of downtown) - Red Dog Wine & Spirits

I discovered Red Dog last time I was visiting the in-laws (they live in Franklin).  I thought they had a fair amount of store selects (Smooth Ambler, FRSB, Bernheim Wheat, Angel's Envy) and I was pleasantly surprised that they had most of those at the tasting bar as well.  I purchased the FRSB and SAOS SB 9yr but have not opened either yet.  I also like Cool Springs Wine & Spirits.

Edited to add:  Also the Hawks/Preds game on Tuesday was a good one (Crawford played really well). I'm excited to watch Part 2 tonight, hopefully Kane can continue the streak and eventually take the active player record away from Sidney Crosby.

Just ate at Husk and the food was pretty spot on, burger and fried chicken were excellent, the sides were ok.

Visited Main Street liquors and picked up a store select ER10, EWBib and VOBbib

And now it's almost game time!!!

Lets go Hawks!!!

And thanks to everyone for your suggestions

Interesting, last time I was there they were pouring Old Blowhard for $10.  This was about a year ago....

Not looking so good for the Hawks. Down 3-1 5 min left, but Kane did extend his steak.

Check that,  4-1 Preds
