Since I brought it to my desk to take a pic and send it to the SB site, I too am indulging since it's so close! Cannot let it sit idly while I type!

Variety is the spice of life, even within the 4R line-up. Thankful for the marvelous array for flavors and expressions in the bourbon world to choose from. Just because I really like 4RSB, and I do, doesn't take away a thing from my Willett, Michter's, or Larceny.

In case you are curious Stew, here is what your Barrel information means (AN 50-2C).  'AN' means the north side of A warehouse.  '50-2C' means the 50th rick, in the second tier, and C (being the third letter in the alphabet) means the barrel was 3 deep into the rack.  Whatever the details, FRSB is always great IMO.

wow, thanks Jeffrey! I was wondering what those hand written details were at the bottom of the label. Appreciate the lesson my friend.

Bullitt... I couldn't agree more... did get a bottle of Willet SB and Michter's 10 for Christmas. Tried both that evening and I must say each was very good in it's own way. Both were smooth, but the fruit and caramel stood out in the Willet while the Michter's had a bit more spice and snap during the finish. I was equally impressed with both and hadn't purchased or tried either until that day. I place both of those bourbons in the higher level of my bourbon likes.

A guest is going to have to be pretty high up on the " I like you list " to get served one of those new bottles! Its Maker's, Knob and RE for them! LOL

FRSB is a favorite bourbon of mine. I just love the mouthfeel, silky, creamy and that taste. out of this world. I'm glad you are enjoying it.

Stew:

Welcome from a fellow NJ SB'er.  You will like Bottle King prices.  You just need to get there regularly as they put things on the shelf when they receive them.  Keep an eye out for the the FR private barrels as they are educational:  the availability of multiple combinations of mash bill and yeast is unique in the bourbon industry and will help you zero in on your particular preferences.  Me?  I'm doomed, I Like them all...

So, is the standard, off-the-shelf FRSB (as above) always OBSV?

Yes.

Hey Joe - you must be near the "Williamson Bros Bar-B-Que" if you're east of the Big Chicken!

Thanks for that tip on BK...I will check in regularly since they're on my way to work. Another bottle of FRSB in my stash...Hmmmm, sounds GREAT!

Having some Old Forester SB right now. Started while I was cleaning up the garage and rigging duck decoys with a friend. Gave him Oban 14 and I had the Old Forester... we were both in our glory. Now on my 3rd glass... guess I should stop but damn it tastes so good!

Be well all!

Wait till you start trying the different recipes!

I just went to a local party supply store and found some FRSB for $32! Picked up only two bottles. Thinking of going back for more.
