So, tomorrow is the big day. What are you gonna drink, and why?

I myself am going to a party with a bunch of friends, and except for all the beer and what not, I am, of course, drinking bourbon.

But what to bring? We're a bunch of young folks(mid-twenties), so we're probably getting drunk. So no top shelf-juice.

None of them drinks whisk(e)y, but are sure to have a taste. I'm hoping to win one or two over to the whisky-side(no luck yet), so nothing off-putting to a novice. But still good enough, so that I'll enjoy it fully, both when sober and drunk.

Taking all this into account, I think I'll bring a FRSmB.

So how about you? What are you gonna toast-in the new year with, and why?

Happy new year!

I haven't decided yet.  We're trying out a bar none of us have been to, yet.  I'm definitely going to bring a flask or two of something.  Maybe I'll diversify.  I was thinking a flask of OWA and Weller 12.  We'll see.

Gonna bring in the new year with some High West "A Midwinters Nights Dram" (HWMWND) as we opened the bottle Christmas Eve and loved it so much that it seems appropriate to finish it off New Year's eve.

Bought a bottle of Jack Daniels Single Barrel which I will be enjoying with friends and some damn fine beers. I really like it, it's not expensive, it came with a free nosing glass and I am honoring Lemmy sort of!

No bourbon for me on New Years, I go over to a friends house which is exclusively a brandy house.  So we will be drinking copious amounts of brandy...my head hurts already.  May have some RHF before I go though.

Likely a bit of a High West theme for me with MWND and the new YKY (Yippee Ki-Yay) as well as a probably a Double Rye and Rendezvous for comparison (the base for the YKY and MWND respectively). They both have extra bourbon aging different from the standard version and weigh in at 100 proof rather than the more typical 92. Kinde wish the YKY was 100 proof as well.

Might bring along some Vya vermouth just for grins to compare the YKY to a DR/Vya Manhattan.

The 4R 125th has reached a perilously low level and as it has been the Christmas pour it seems appropraite

to close out the holidays with it this year. Its also a fitting final pour as a toast to Lemmy.

I'm bringing a bottle of CR NHR to the party.

Proof seems right for drinking multiple glasses.  Tasty and smooth enough that even non-whiskey drinkers may find it interesting.  Price is right so I won't be concerned if someone pours out their glass or mixes it with soda. And, of course, a good conversation starter with the Jim Murray rating.

Killing a few bottles tomorrow I hope... Black Bull 30 I'm taking a friend's early, then later some Laphroaig 18 and possibly my 2015 4R SmbLE.

Gonna be ETL...Not a ton of bourbon drinkers coming & I'm only so-so on it. But the bottle is open and a couple of the casual drinkers will recognize it & be familiar with the allocation hype, so I'll get credit for bringing the "good stuff" and I can make a bottle go away.

Well i found a decanted 4 oz of PVW20 from a few years back so probably this with a Romeo y Julieta Escudos LE 2007 thats been chilling in my humidor for a while. NYE seems appropriate for a "$400" pour of bourbon.

Oh and some Krug vintage champagne

For the most part I think it's a cocktail-drinking crowd, so the plan is to make big batches of a few different cocktails in advance. That way folks can just grab a glass, an ice cube, and pour themselves a drink! Saves a lot of time and hassle trying to make cocktails during the celebration.

Like Auracom, I'm hoping to also kill off a couple bottles, so if people want to sip bourbon, I'll pull it from my shelf of open goodies.

My wife and I always have a chill New Year's Eve on our own because we don't want to be out on the roads after midnight and we get to drink what we want without worrying about who will be driving. So, I'll be having some of the special pours again. It's feeling like a rye night - HWMWND, Saz18, THH, and Jeff21. That ought to do it.

40min left until the new year here. Been random selection. EC18, RR101 ten year old, EWSB 2000 and now KC100. Might finish off with a Blanton's barrel proof.

Enjoy, stay safe and all the best for 2016.

That's some impressive rye. Should be quite a night!

HHSS #1. Because it's the best and only bourbon I have open this evening after having finished up a couple of GBS selections, ECBP and KCSB. Happy New Year, SB.com!

Started with Knob Creek Rye, finished the evening with some 1792 Port Finish.

No particular reason I chose those two.
