starhopper
I was watching my favorite TV show, "Justified" the other day, and found myself inspired to have myself a few pours of Elmer T Lee. The show utilizes almost the entire Buffalo Trace product line, as well as WT101 and even Old Forester in a scene or two. I was wondering.... what TV shows (if any) inspire you guys to pick up a glass and have a few pours? Duffy (bad guy character, I think that was his name) liked a 'kick' of Pappy20 in his coffee.

Old movies with cocktail scenes usually inspire me to make classic cocktails. "The Thin Man" has a bedroom scene in which Nick gets nicked. He pours some bullet wound medicine from a Haig & Haig Pinch bottle although the label is obscured. It was on last night while I was doing dishes so I poured some Dewar's even though I'm not a scotch person.
PaulO
Boardwalk Empire for me. I think many of the labels in the show were props (like the Grand Canadian Old Rye Whisky on the beginning). They did talk about Old Grandad and Canadian Club.

Paddy
With the exception of the weekends, I'm never watching a tv prior to the evening hours. So, what Squire said (at least on work days)!

Outlander makes me want Scotch, even though I'm not a big Scotch drinker. Any time a Kardashian appears on my TV...

I always assumed they were drinking Irish in the home, given the family heritage. I wonder now whether it's been identified. I know when at a restaurant the Commish often orders a single malt, though. I'll have to pay closer attention.
clingman71
Wife requested an Old Fashioned for every episode of Mad Men. I find myself enjoying a cigar and a pour of something, usually bourbon, when we Netflix Poirot. We are up to season 3 episode 2.
