Today is my 52nd birthday and I would like to by a bottle of bourbon as a gift for myself . My question is....

canyou suggest a bourbon for me ?

I am looking for a rich , creamy heavy mouthfeel "oily/viscous" with a woody sweet finish.  I love syrupy mouthfeel bourbons

KCSB; Booker's; Baker's; CEHT BP or SB; JJB SB; Stagg Jr.; ECBP; WTRB; FRSB or PS.

Oh, and happy birthday!

Get some OFBB if it's available. The 2015 is very enjoyable. And it is the The Birthday Bourbon.

Oh, and happy birthday!

I'm going to agree on that CEHT BP or Stagg Jr.

To the previous posts, I'd add Blanton's for sure; but at a much more reasonable rate I'd look for Elijah Craig 12-year, and/or Henry McKenna 10-year BIB SB.... or even Ezra B 12-year SB (many here will talk this one down as an NDP; but I find it consistently fine Bourbon).   Happy Natal Day!

BP when I turned 52 I bought a case of Old Grand Dad.  No, I'm not kidding, I really did, but that was so long ago I don't remember if it was BIB or 114.

If you can't get Rock Hill what is on your available list?  That would help us make a recommendation.

You haven't said how high you like your proof.

I think Stagg Jr, CEHT BP, and ECBP might melt your face off if you're not used to that sort of thing. Keep in mind to approach these with caution and respect.

I'd recommend Russell's Reserve single barrel at 110 proof. Thick, flavorful, rich, creamy. Not break-the-bank expensive, but high enough on the shelf for a good birthday treat.

Had my first pour of the NCSB 9yr.

All I can say is....

I wish I would have tried it sooner.

This will be my everyday bourbon from now on. Thick, heavy mouthfeel. Delicious!!!

drinking it neat and it doesn't need water and never will add it.

Thanks for for the suggestion

NC ? I give up. When someone tells you it's like DOH!

I didn't get a lot of dough in the taste. Just a bit of the standard Jim beam yeast flavor .  Other than that it was thick and delicious

Happy Belated Birthday.  KCSB was a nice choice. I has a nice flavor and mouthfeel.  It is very underrated.  Probably because it is widely available both as a standard offering and store selects.  If they announced they were ending the store select program, the shelves would dry up quickly.

I hope you enjoy it!

I know I'm late to the party (pun intended) but I would have suggested 1792 SmB.

On my list to try

thanks

I was referring to not knowing the abbreviation NC. I think I got the SB part.
