BigPapa
Sorry I didn't know where to post yhivsince it's a Canadian Rye. Has anyone tried this and can I please get your thoughts on this? I have heard that it is a very sweet whisky that has little flavor of a rye whisky. I thought it is a 100% rye whisky? i don't know what casks it's been matured in either. Would love ice to here all your thoughts on this whisky
Prof_Stack
Yes, it is sweet. It is a friendly drink, with little to irritate your taste buds. I'm not sure about the 100% rye, since in Canada a whiskey is (was?) called a rye. Personally, I think it's overpriced, but not by too much. tanstaafl2
Hard to know for sure because the NDP isn't saying to my knowledge but very sweet and soft like a typical Canadian whisky formula as opposed to a 100% rye like Whistlepig from Alberta Distillers. Although the NDP has said otherwise. At 80 proof it also seemed a bit thin to me. I haven't gone back to my bottle in a long time. Not much similarity to the Pig or the early Jefferson Rye. Harry in WashDC
Here's an old (well, 2014) thread discussing Pendleton 1910 containing a little more info on what people thought about it and where it likely came from. RE: how it tastes? tanstaafl2's comments speak for most of us. IOW, Bruce (tans . .) need not revisit his bottle for us - not much has changed in two years. I finally finished off my one bottle earlier this year in order to free up shelf space. Edited March 22, 2016 by Harry in WashDC fogot to put in the link. typical.
