Bourbons going rare

Mike ( AKA Hideaway), in keeping with your observation about the craze existing, here's a link where we SBers vent and contradict ourselves.  You can see changes in our thinking depending on whether the "truck" has arrived with new supplies.

We do not gouge our customers. We are an independent store, so we have to mark up the product 30 cents above state minimum to meet our budget, and that is what we have done with the product we received. The barrel proof retailed at 70.29 and is sold out. The single barrel is at 50.29 and the small batch is 40.29. I purchased a small batch at our retail price.

As a MI whiskey buyer I have the LLC minimum price list pretty well ingrained in my grey matter.  I was in HS a few weeks ago, but didn't know your store had a bourbon stock.  I'll see you the next time I'm up there and introduce myself.  Keep up the good work.

I would be hard pressed to find Stagg Jr, Elmer T. Lee, and and Weller. Eagle Rare is problematic sometimes too. I also can't find Noah's Mill or Willet. 

It is equally as hard to get them through our distributors (I own a restaurant.) 

The bourbon craze is real, thats for sure. 

I can't help your restaurant out, but if you're interested for yourself, I can probably help you find some of the BT stuff.

I'd be very curious, for my personal collection! I finally found a bottle of Stagg Jr. ($80), ETL ($50), and I have EH Taylor Small Batch. Plenty of Eagle Rare and Buffalo Trace, and Blanton's.

I'd really like to have (or even taste, never tasted it) some Weller stuff, EH Taylor Single Barrel, Barrel Proof, and Seasoned Wood. 

I'll cross my fingers that my distributor can get me some Antique Collection this fall. I think they may have just some of the EH Taylor stuff in, so I may be able to get that for the restaurant. No weller 12. 

I've wanted to try wheated bourbons other than Makers, and have never found any Old Fitzgerald or Weller.

Mike, the Col EHT selection is available in DC at several stores at MSRP or even below (if I hurry!!).  Keep the pressure on your distributor - they are around right now.

Pick up some Larceny. You won't be disappointed.

Sadly, Larceny would require a trip to Virginia.  It does not appear to be distributed in Maryland, yet.

Always wanted to try Larceny. I never knew why my distributors couldn't get it, and now I know! Hopefully Maryland can get it soon.

It's good stuff.  I drive down to VA every now and then for work, so I try to grab a bottle or two when I'm down there.  It's my favorite wheated bourbon, which works well since it is also cheap.
