Not purchased, but gifted to me:

IW Harper 15 year

Blade and Bow NAS

Haven't opened/tasted either of these yet, but the IWH15 seems to get decent reviews. Call me a snob, if you will, but I'm not really all that interested in Diageo bourbons...mostly 'cause of the marketing, I guess. Of the Diageo line, I've only ever tried Bulleit, and it's OK, but nothing special to me.

I'll be sure to check back in after tasting...

actually, I kinda like B&B.  had a tasting at a tasting event and ended up buying a bottle.  I'd say it's a solid bourbon, but only if you find it for less than $40.

I've been a good boy lately. I came home from the Bourbon Affair back in June with 24 bottles. I came home from the family visit (right by Kentucky) with another 6 bottles on July.

My wife started giving me the stink eye.

I'm drinking from the bunker for a while.

I scored another bottle of Four Roses Smb LE 2014 today, i was happy to pay €115 for it, you can't have to much of this stuff.

Know what you mean Steve. FWIW, the stink eye is more commonly referred to as "the wife look".  And yes, I've been on the receiving end of that look many, many times over the past eight years.  There's another look too. It doesn't have a name yet. Maybe we can call it the "huh" look. ;) It's the one your wife gives you when you go into a liquor store and come out empty handed. Kinda like this.  Truth be told, I've actually been pretty good lately, and I've received the "huh" look more often than "the wife look". That'll probably change when I come back from the KBF next month though. :D

It's a big boat with many paddles BMMP. Hold on tightly to your paddle, and/or make sure you know how to swim. FWIW, I'm referring to the old saying "Up the creek without a paddle".

Cheers! Joe

Walking from a restaurant (where I had two KC neat pours with and after dinner) to a book store, I passed a liquor store.  Hence, a 750 of 4R 80 proof and a Dickel Barrel Select somehow got stuck in my trunk.

Haha! Yes indeed Joe, I am VERY familiar with "the look". I also occasionally get the "huh" look, but not very often as it's quite hard for me to come out of a liquor store empty handed. Even if I don't need anything (and really, do I ever?), I'm always quite happy to buy a staple just because.

You should open the. KCSB, and post your impressions in the SOTM thread in the tasting forum...

ECBP x 2 (first time ever encountering these in my area) @ $54 each

KCSB @ $30.....must have been mispriced since they usually go for $45 or so here

Stopped in a store on my way home this evening that I normally don't frequent just to see if they had anything interesting. The owner remembered me and my interest in bourbon and came out to tell me he had some new selections and had just received a few bottles of Stagg Jr. Left his shop with one of the bottles of Stagg Jr for $59 and a CEHT SmB for $39.

Just for good measure I decided to hit another shop that was on my way home and they were running a sale on Knob Creek Single Barrel for $29... One of those went home with me too!

Stopped in a store I don't usually frequent because the owner pulls all the limiteds and even just the desirables to mark up to crazy prices. He has a good eye though and had a dozen EWSB05 on the shelf at $27. It's been a while since I've seen anything older than 2007 and even those are getting more rare. I finished my last bottle of 2004 a few weeks ago so grabbed a bottle of the 2005 and remarked about the year to the owner. He said he knew they were going to start getting rare and had bought 12 cases. I'm not stocking up but I know where to go when I need another.
