My favorite local shop called to say they got in a case of Weller 12 y/o and were holding a bottle for me. Ran by on my lunch break to pick her up!

The new Willett-sourced old Bardstown and a Willett 12 yr single barrel.  I said I'd never do it, but I caved after the tour.  Also I met Bill Murray, who was getting a private tour.  That was pretty cool.

That is VERY cool.  From everything I've read he seems like a nice dude to boot.  He rolls through town here once a year for the Byron Nelson pro-am and seems to leave with an even heightened fandom than when he arrived.

Got lucky and managed to get a bottle of Elliott Select through a friend. Quite happy about it as I wasn't expecting to get one.

A handle of WT101 for $31.02, out the door price, still one of the best bangs for your buck in the bourbon world imho.

I too scored a W12 from a NCABC Store.   Just stopped by to see what they had and talk to the manager that is a bourbon guy.    He said he just received a case and would sell me one bottle.  $29.99 .   He kept the case in back for his regular customers.   What a great guy!    Just in time as I am down to about two more pours from last years W12.

Sounds like someone attended Whiskey Pig.

A friend of mine who was there posted a video of Bill singing with the band. Also have seen some photos of other friends posing with Bill posted on facebook.

Love it.

Please do post up your thoughts on the Old Bardstown BIB. Happy to see that it's Willett's own distilled whiskey but even happier to see that it was priced at $23.

Got a hall pass from the wife (as in, she didn't give me the stink eye when I picked up a couple bottles at Total Wine. Pro tip: take your wife to a free wine tasting event at Total Wine, then, walk through the bourbon aisle on the way out.)

SO, I procured a WTRB and a standard KC. Oh yes. (Some of my favorite staples).

Actually he was wandering around Willett Distillery.  I came out of the tour and he was standing in front of my car talking to some people.  I'm in town for a wedding, so I have other duties beyond enjoying KBF.  I made it to Willett and Bourbon Heritage Center, but that is probably it for me.  I might make it down to Four Roses this morning, but probably not.  I didn't even know Whiskey Pig was happening yesterday until some guys in line at Willett brought it up.  Sadly did not go.

We tried the Old Bardstown BIB on the tour.  I thought it was very good for its age, so I bought one for myself and one for a friend.  It reminds me of young Heaven Hill, except with less menthol and more fruitiness.  Maybe a bit more composed at a young age, though I like HH just fine at 4 years so that is really just picking nits.  None of that is very surprising, given proximity to HH, similar water sources, and Willett/KBD familiarity with the HH distillate.  I'd say if it is the same batch they are selling at the gift shop then it is certainly worth $23, and I think it is going to age very gracefully into the future.

came across some BT Single Barrel Store select, and it was an actual single Barrel, not like Binny's store select ones.  ended up picking up a handle of it after getting a taste of it from the store.  might go back for another couple of bottles.

W L Weller 12 Year. My first time buying this one but it seemed under priced for a 12 year old bourbon.
