I saw these at Binny's the other day, has anyone tried them, I see they are 111 proof, is that the same as the Makers Mark Cask Strength, Binny's sometimes get some good private selection's in and I dont want to miss one if its good.

Can't answer for any others; but the only bottle I've bought of MMCS is 111.6 proof.     It's pretty good, although certainly no bargain for the cheddar asked.

my first taste of it was pretty good, but I need to go back and taste it to be sure.  so I'll probably do a pour of this tonight and report back.  I've got batch #2

Well, don't pay in cheddar, then.

Thanx for the tip, Joe!    I'll have to try to remember that.    However of course, at my age remembering anything longer than it takes to type this is never a certainty.   Heee-Heeeee.

The MMCS I have is 111 and some change. I found it to be quite enjoyable.

had a pour of batch #2 last night and I like it.  I am glad I bought a bottle of it, but I probably wouldn't buy a second bottle @$70.  The nose is a big caramel/vanilla bomb up front and I do taste cherries with a slight cinnamon (hotness) on the finish.  It's actually pretty smooth at barrel proof, but I added a little water to tame it a little.  It's a pretty good pour overall.

Batch 2 was designed to big, fat and sweet. Batch 6 was designed to be spicier while retaining the classic Maker's profile in the mix. Both turned out quite nice.

not gonna lie, after reading about the batch #6 notes, I'm tempted to pick that one up to try too...  but man... $70 is a lot

Can't understand the price point, but I suppose its all about supply and demand, friend of mine was in Binny's yesterday and texted me that people where walking out with 2 or 3 bottles at a time.

Lost Pollito what do you think of them, worth the effort to obtain or pass.

Well I'm definitely bias, since my boss is the one that got to pick them out. If you like Makers to begin with, they are quite nice. Added layers of flavor, and the higher proof make them more interesting for me.

I was thinking it was a bit too early in the day for you to start talking to yourself

I like it when Joe starts talking to himself. He usually ends up coming for a visit and buying bourbon.

I have tried 6 different MM private selects, Binnys included, and they are all different,  but very tasty. If you are a fan of the regular 46, as I am, you will love the difference in flavor profiles and the higher proof. As to the price point, a store select FR is gonna cost you $65 or more these days. The MMPS is just as good, just a different kind of good...YMMV
