dgonano
Bettye Jo, Thanks for relaying that info. I had to learn all the the different tasks also, as I had to relieve all the various operators during their break-time.But never did they let me operate the forklift. It would have been a disaster. Thanks again
boone
This is a picture that is "rarely seen". Only by a few. It's Heaven Hill resting for the night. This is what I LOVE to see alot of times when the night has gone crazy with breakdowns and line changes. The double doors at the end of that hallway mean home to me. Only maintenance and our supervisor see this. I must say, the first time I "heard" Heaven Hill completely silent was erie Bettye Jo BTW---sorry it's a bit blurry. I must have been so tired, I didn't steady the camera
TNbourbon
I had the pleasure of accompanying Bettye Jo on a private tour of Heaven Hill Thursday, and was fortunate to be able to bring her a couple of decanters (one sealed and full) from the old Michter's (PA) Distillery, where her uncle, C. Everett Beam, once was master distiller. Bettye Jo, for those of you who haven't met her, can best be described as a 'force of nature', though a very gracious one. I am both gratified and amazed how often she seems to take the time to accommodate those of us here on these forums for tours, pictures, etc. Obviously, that's why she's the 2004 Bourbonian of the Year -- and rightfully so. Again, thanks, Bettye Jo.

boone
This man (Steve Likins) is someone "hidden" behind the scenes in the bourbon industry. He teaches one of many classes at Elizabethtown Technical College. He has been teaching us (Heaven Hill Maintence) Industrial Matitenance, one of many, many classes that we are required to take...He also teaches Industrial Maintenance for Jim Beam and Maker's Mark. Today, is the last day of school. I will leave in a hour or so to pick my grades up ... Steve, has a Master's degree is in Chemistry...a really "smart" guy. He knows just about anything and everything there is. We tried to stump him with questions all the time...The entire semister we would come up with some of the most complicated questions imaginable. We could not stump him He just loved it Here he is, I had just tapped him on the shoulder and told him to smile really big cause "Big Al" is gonna take your picture Bettye Jo
