bulleit thoroughbred?

Does anyone know anything about this whiskey?

I recently saw this in a liquor store and I have never heard of it before. It is a different bottle than Bulleit Frontier.

Is it the same whiskey?

It was in a square bottle with a horse on it, obviously.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I was just talking about this very bottle with Cliff recently but unfortunately neither of us had much info on it. Cliff did say it was distilled at Ancient Age instead of Four Roses like the new Bulleit is.

If there is a 2nd bottle available (or if you are not interested in the one they had) I would be. How much is it/are they? I can pay immediately with paypal... Oh wait this isn't eBay

The liquor store only had one and it is 100 miles away.

I am unsure if it's worth the trip. BTW, it was the same store where I recently picked up 3 bottles of Wild Turkey 12YO at $40 each. What a place!

Yeah. I keep trying to hit every store I find. I figure about 4000 miles of bourbon trips including The Bourbon Trail.

I let you know if I'm back that way. I think I also saw it at a Liquor Barn in KY. Maybe someone down thar can find it closer.

The only LB i got to goto while in KY both festivala I have been to is the one on Fern Valley Road... I'll have to make sure I check out the others form now on. Going there once a year just isn't enough!

4000 miles, now thats alot. I have that many maybe even more but those miles would be from just taking weekend trips. (as compared to miles spent driving to a specific store for a specific bottle. For that I probably have logged 800-1000 miles ) Whereever I go I always stop in every damn liquor store I see. At least I have a wife who is patient

While at Bourbon Fest 2003 a lady had a box that Bulleit Thoroughbred came in. She liked it and was looking for more. According to Greg Kitzmiller it was a mid 1990s bottling. Not being bottled now. She had a story of ordering some at a liquor store in Nashville I think, She was unable to get it right away. They sent it to another store and put a jack under the price.She wasn't too happy but seemed resigned to end the search there and then.
