And finally, if you're looking for something to do with that almost full bottle of Bernheim Wheat Whiskey, try a vatting with WTRB - 3:2 is my current recipe that combines the sweetness of the Bernheim with the punch of the Rare Breed.  YUM!

And, as always, YMMV.   ;)

So, Frank, have you named this yet?  When VA ABC priced the WTRB 375s at less than half the price on the 750s, I, of course, picked up a few.  I just happen to have plenty of Bernheim and WTRB on hand as well as a clean, empty 750, but I need to put SOMEthing on the label so I don't forget what's in there.  Wheat Breed seems too obvious.

NC did this too. I picked up several at $13.75. Apparently the 375's are going away. I am definitely going to try this vatting experiment. Just to be clear is it 3 parts Bernheim to 2 parts Rare Breed, or vice versa?

Yes, 3xBernheim:2x WTRB.  Me likee "wheaters" . . . . . .

But if you want it in a different "flavor profile" just reverse the ratio.  Or, if you can't make up your mind, just make it 50:50.  That's the beauty of vatting, no?

A name?  I get to give it a name?  But what if I stole from somewhere - does that still count?  Huh, huh???  Let me go back thru my vatting notes and I'll see if I can come up with something.

If you are willing to take a suggestion I'll offer this one, Gee... Bob!

Best name ever!   Only 3-letters, one syllable; and, you can say or spell it in either direction, and still come up with the same thing.   Beat THAT!   :)

(Full disclosure: it's also my deceased brother's name, so I may be biased.)  ;)

Wellers have been around the state very recently in fact. There are still those who think buying 2 dozen bottles are acceptable practice from one store and even "feel bad" about doing it.....

Picked up a WSR for 19.99 only store Ive seen it in, of a dozen plus LS ive been in lately. I seem to live in an area that only has like four serious bourbon liquor stores and the rest are a bunch of joker LS.

At $19.99, I would be buying multiple bottles. ;)

WSR seems to come in waves.  Bought the only 2 bottles of OWA I've ever seen last year (2 different shops in the Springs) and I am yet to spot any 12 year.

The only bottle of WSR I've ever seen was priced at $89 at the LS, so I passed.  I've been considering pickup up a bottle of the 1792 Sweet Wheat to check it out.

 Understood, but that's funny.

Being the Weller whore that I am, here's my advise to you D. Give the Weller SR a try. If you really like it, go back and buy as many as you feel comfortable buying. I know that individual tastes differ, but if it were me, I'd be buying a case at that price. :P What can I say? ^_^

For those evenings when you're feeling extra socialist pour a dram of Rare Bern and "Feel the Bern"! Yeah I went there.

For those evenings when you're feeling extra socialist pour a dram of Rare Bern, deliver it to a pajama wearing millennial, and return home to flagellate yourself for having enough disposable income to have 2 bottles of bourbon!

Has anyone had the Redemption wheated bourbon? Just picked one up as Weller seems to not exist in Colorado.

I would be happy to have a decent priced wheater with good flavor available.

I am not the biggest wheater guy, I generally dislike Makers, like OWA fine but could take or leave WSR or W12, I do like pretty much everything in the HH Wheater world and RY10.  I like the Redemption Wheated I have a bottle and think it fares well in comparison to many of the above but certainly isn't the same as any.

A friend gifted this to me after he cracked it and didn't care for it. I like the profile. Very smooth and doesn't bite back.

I really liked the Oregon wheat after it had been open for a couple of weeks. Sounds like yours likely has been.

One of the very few true Wheat Whiskey options in this area.
