Hey guys,

So my local LS has bookers on sale for 53.00 with no tax. Batch is 2016-02. Any input on this batch? I know I should get one because of the price increase but should I get more? Never tried this bourbon before.

Acs - FWIW, Even though the Booker's batches have been different, they are not all THAT different -the Booker's profile is relatively constant.  I've yet to find one Booker's batch that stands out from the others, and I do like it.  Beam's "small batches" are probably 1000s of gallons, if not 1000s of barrels, larger than, say Blanton's "small batches" since "small batch" is an advertising term, not a regulatorily defined term.  Here in WashDC, $50-55 is pretty typical for Booker's.

That said, Knob Creek @100 proof is a Beam "small batch" and sells here for about $22/750ml, and Jim Beam bonded on sale is $18.  If and when Booker's jumps up to $100, guess where my Beam dollars are going?  ANS: anyplace but Booker's.

KC100 at $22 in DC? Wow, good times. There must be a senator or two who've promised military bases or something. (missing NoVA more than ever know.)

Indeed.  My wife noticed that KC had a full page advertisement this week in the Washington Post - with the new label which dropped the age statement.  She noted that an Old Fashioned glass is sort of in front of where the age statement used to be.  KC has been "on sale" here at about $22 since last year.  I still don't think I have enough, but that formerly vacant space where I could have put it is now filled with OGD 114.  What's a body to do???  WashDC (inside the beltway, anyway) is woefully short of storage garages.  Maybe my next door neighbor . . .

EDIT - in sum, I think our good fortune is going to run out soon.

Thank you, thank you, Steve.  When I posted, I figured, "I really should check this, but. . ."

Your point still stands though - there's not going to be much variation from batch to batch. Especially because they have a profile they are going for and don't want to deviate from.
