To each their own. I enjoy Double Oak Beam.  If I put something in the " quite nice" category and it is in the $20 something range, it will be purchased again and again by me.

If it was closer to $20 then it would be a no brainer. This bottle runs $30ish here, giving it competition wih ER10, BT, WT101, Henry McKenna BIB, etc.

Fair logic. I have a source for $19 a liter. Yes, me and a buddy have been known to guzzle a little on occasion. When one is knocking on $30 there are many other viable options.

Thats a decent price. I'd buy a few at that price. Price variations across the country are crazy!

Crazy serendipity. I just finish a blind taste test of 5 bourbons at a party and the Jim Beam Double Oaked was my favorite... beating out Elmer T Lee, Stagg Jr., Old Crow, and a Jim Beam unreleased uncut unfiltered Barrell sent to AllTech.
Jim Beam white label is maybe my least favorite bourbon, so I am quite surprised that the Double Oaked was my favorite (Stagg Jr. Was second).

If you remember my post from a few weeks ago about my friend and coworker who makes drinks at 4:30 on Fridays for his design team as they team as they go over design ideas.....they were at is again today so I had a 4RSmB as I capped off my day at the office. 

After dinner, I thought it was going to be a wheater night again. Started with a 1792 Sweet Wheat. But then I diverted to the local TW KCSB barrel pick "Mall Santa" which I think is in the 12+year age range and was pondering how good it good it is when my friend texts me that he's into some Staqgg, which of course means that I need to be into some too.

So.......new bottle of '14 GTS is opened.......amazing and the winner of the niight.

Figured Bernheim distillate was working well, so I moved on to an OE7/101.  Having this finally show up in Maryland has really put 2017 on track to be a good bourbon year for me.

Looking back, I would have to say it was my "Bourbon of the Year" for 2016.  Well, I felt it unfair to vote for the GBS selected 1792 Full Proof barrel.  I ain't that big of a homer...

Take note of the barrel number and get more if you still can. I've never had a bad McKenna SiB but they can vary.

Just finished a nice nap on the hammock, though I'm sure there is something I should be doing around the house...  A special occasion deserves a special pour.  So, Tribute it is!

Decided on a pour from what's left of this bottle I found while hunting in Bowling Green KY back in 2015 - SW juice from prior to the close of the distillery, I was very suspect of the cork so I decanted it and am down to maybe two more small pours.  I've shared it with several people of which I'm glad and will be sorry to see it go but have been very happy to have had it.
