Had a few pours of OF1920. I grabbed a bottle after hearing so many positive things about it here. Pretty unique and really tasty — based on the dent I out into the bottle this week, I don't think it'll be long until I pick up another one.

I may need to keep a decanter on hand for cork-induced emergencies. I do think that Wild Turkey produces some very visually appealing bottles, so I would rather keep my WT bourbons in their original bottles.

Hopefully they will get around to getting better corks.

Empty bottles do the trick as well.  If you like the WT packaging, next one that stays intact that you drain, keep it around 'just in case.'

Finishing off the last of a Deps store select Wathens.  There were times it was real good and times it was average, but never bad.

Just tried the 2016 WLW. Is there a more consistent quality LE bottle? Not in my opinion

Also had a pour of an old friend WFE barrel from about 5 years ago. A top 10 all time pour for me

My nickne for Henry McKenna Bottled in Bond is "The Boss". It absolutely blows me away at its price point.

Cheers to you, GSOPirate, if you love it half as much as me, you'll always keep it in stock.

Having another taste of the 4:1 Evan black/forged oak. Tasting really good this evening.

How does it taste? Does it make EW black taste top shelf? That is a good way to stretch out your Orphan Barrel Forged Oak.

SxSxS with JTS BIB, EW BIB, and OF BIB. All good but for me the EW blows the other two away. I do really enjoy the JTS as well though.

Really good.. I don't know though lately I have been able to blend some really tasty stuff (to my taste that is). Ill put it next to Craig 12 in a little bit. Tastes better from memory but you know how that goes

Really Evan Williams black tastes "Top Shelf" by itself. Or I should say is better than a lot of top shelf.

I'm having a friend over. We both like UK and U of F, but he is from Florida; so the game turned out worse for him today. 2 p.m. was a little early for bourbon, so he is coming over right now to try some Wild Turkey Rare Breed. Led Zeppelin IV plays, so the breed will mix well with the rock n blues.

Started the night by finishing off an OWA 107; followed with EC12 (ASOB) -- which was superb; topping off with the J. Henry Patton Road Cask Strength, about which I have raved on every thread that fits.

My son and I enjoyed the following:

Jim Beam Black, Extra Aged

Jim Beam Single Barrel

Jim Beam BIB

Jim Beam Double Oaked

Bakers

Knob Creek Rye

Knob Creek Small Batch

Bookers (Batch 2016-04)

Bookers (Batch 2017-01)

I would be snockered if I had a full pour of each of these.  Actually we did the Jim Beam Distillery Tour today and tasted all these.  Also got to dip my finger in and taste some KCSiB literally right out of the barrel. Taaasssttteeeee!

Well, tonight it's OGD 114 with honey and lemon to wash down the vitamin C and zinc tablets... I hope this works...

JT - Hope your cold gets better.  Bourbon, honey, and lemon saved me the day I reported for duty in the Army.  Just saying . . .

Earlier post re: EWB - I like the idea of vatting it.  I like it @ 86 proof as a mixer and sometimes as a neat sipper, but for some reason find the EWW (aka BIB) lacking.  The EC is just outside (sometimes) my age sweet spot so I may get a couple NAS and finish off my half EWW.

Whatever - 75 degrees in the mid-Atlantic today, so I took the 3-score years plus 10 body outside and, of course, over did it.  SO - to celebrate surviving yardwork, I finished off the last 1.7 oz. of EW SiB 2005, had an oz. of OGD BIB before dinner, then had a 2 oz. neat of OE 101, of which about 0.2 oz. sits in the bottom of my glass.  No baseball on tomorrow, so I may have some more while cleaning the kitchen.  Any excuse to pour some more . . .  B)

This what my neighbor and I ended up drinking last night. We both liked the Russell's Reserve 10 the best.
