Yeh it doesn't drink hot yhough I'm just not sure I've been in the mood for it. My taste is always all over the place. I have to stare at my bourbon every night for longer than I probably should contemplating what I "feel" like. The process works, but I jump around a lot. Pull bottles down...put 'em back....look at them all again.... Pull one down......smell it.......put it back...... try to decide.......Then end up drinking something I just want rid of to free up shelf space for better bottles. My wife figured out a way around it..... She just says "pour me something good"
Clueby
I ask my wife to surprise me and pour me something from any currently open bottle. Then I will try and guess what it is. It backfired on me one night when she poured me some Willett-distilled Old Bardstown. That one is relegated to mixing only. My wife also asked me the "pour me something good" one night. I poured her some OGD114. She did not agree! Edited March 6, 2017 by Clueby

I know the 2014 got only so-so reviews after the 2013, and then was swept away by the 2015, but I'm wondering where people feel it's sits in the grand scheme of FRSmB things now that we have a bit more perspective. I've had one pour of it and found it pretty darn good, but I have yet to try the others so can't compare. Recent comments I've seen regarding the 2016 make it sound like the 2014 wasn't so bad in retrospect.

I did a comparison with13 14, 15, & 16. My order of preference is 15-13-16-14. The 14 & 16 are more "wood forward", the 13 & 15 are more "fruit forward", and the rest of the details are a bit foggy...

My order of preference would be 15-14-16, I've never had the opportunity to taste the 2013 small batch, but I was able to bunker 3 bottles of the Single Barrel 2013 LE and its even better than the SmB 2015. I was not so impressed by the 2016 SmB at first, but I have to say, my bottle is opened for a while now and it's getting better and better. I'm gonna pour some right now! Cheers ! kcgumbohead
Spent some more time with my recently inherited 80's era ( I think) AAA10YR. It reminded me of something but until I got to sit down and spend some quality time, I couldn't pin it down. I did so Last night and it reminds me of Eagle Rare. I only ever bought 1 bottle of ER several years back and I don't know how this AAA compares to what AAA10yr fans expect so, I will be bringing it to Bardstown next month to see what some others think of it. bourbontiger9
Hoping to get some guidance from my fellow SBers...... need to buy a bottle of liquor for a co-worker who is retiring. He is a big Manhattan drinker so I want to get him a good bottle of Bourbon/rye for said cocktail of choice. Need some suggestuons on whether to go bourbon or rye, and without breaking the bank, but don’t want a cheap bottle either. Thanks in advance!Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Spade
Opened up a bottle of FR OESF. These never disappoint. Every time I open one of these private selection up I wonder why I don't drink them more often.
