Now it's time to see how High West Double Rye pairs with Ferrero Rocher.

I am trying to figure out if I have a bad bottle of Eagle Rare or if it doesn't suit my taste. The first two times I drank from this bottle, it tasted like a musty and poorly ventilated crawlspace. Let's see how it tastes tonight.

I'm having a couple of pours of AA BIB this evening. As I've said many times before, I sure wish BT they still made this one.  If they did, it would be one of my every day, no brainer, pours.  ;) I'm wistfully dreaming about a case of AA BIB sitting along side all my other BIB's.

Cheers! Joe

I also get a musty note but in a good way, if that makes any sense. Hopefully it turns around for you. ER is one of my favorite readily available pours.

It will probably grow on me. Elmer T Lee also had a musty taste to me the one time that I drank it. I've had two glasses tonight and the Eagle Rare tastes better tonight, so maybe I am getting acclimated to the mustiness.

When I had my first taste of Rye, I didn't care for it, but now there are several Rye whiskeys that I absolutely love (Willett, High West, etc.).

I hope that my taste buds come around on the Eagle Rare, but right now I would rather spend my $30 on Elijah Craig, Russell's Reserve, Henry McKenna Bottled in Bond, or Evan Williams Single Barrel.

Could be. Lot a variability in these. Had a similar one that tasted like a hardwood forest floor. Lot of decaying wood, earthy, mulch thing.

Wasn't bad, but it was very different than others I had

Having a pour of the same, but this is all sweetness and caramel.

Nice pour of FRSmB, really like this one, definitely glad to see it available to me here in GJ. Been quite a few months since I've last had this.

MTNBourbon, I joined you in a pour of the FRSmB.  One of my favorites.

Did a blind sbs between ER10 and BT store pick to compare the same mashbill and a difference of 3 years.  Guessed wrong and surprised myself by picking the BT

After midnight - just finished 2 oz. of a store pick 4R OBSO.  I passed on a replacement earlier today when I visited the store - already have 1 and 3/4 on the shelf.

WFE 3 year rye. starting to really like it. I'm wondering how proud of it ($) they're going to be as it gets older though.

Clever of you to divide your pour count into separate days by using the clock rather than the calendar.

It gives me cause for admiration, as well as a new way to do  my own counts.   Now, I can drink TWICE AS MUCH in a given evening!!!!    Thanx, Harry!

Ha! Beast Boy is over by some of my bottles. My son left him there to guard some of the bottles. [emoji1]

Gee.  I never thought about that.  But then, I didn't mention the (half-size since I make one and we split it) nonbourbon cocktail before dinner or the short pour of JB BIB while doing dishes.  Must have slipped my mind . . .
