Are there any stores in Suffolk county that select their own barrels?  When I was in Kentucky, a lot of the bigger stores had them.  But I haven't run across any here.

I think the Wine Guy in Smithtown had done it in the past but nothing recently.

I guess select barrels isn't too popular here.  There aren't any really good whiskey bars here either.  When I was visiting Kentucky, not only did they have select barrels, they let you taste them.

They had a barrel select Knob Creek that blew me away.

Did you try Huntington or eastern Nassau county?

As far as Huntington, yes.  I assume you mean "Bottles and Cases".  Now I live  near Riverhead.  So I don't make it to Nassau county too often.

 

The trip to Kentucky I did this fall was great and there were some really great selections.  One store had the best Knob Creek I have tasted.
