No order - I just collected all the submissions in this thread and the "Most Underrated", filtered on true straight bourbons that retail under $15. Not sure what to do with it though. mbroo5880i
While this isn't a true bottom shelf based on quality, I did receive this message today from a local retailer. It was announced late last year that Heaven Hill’s 6 Year Old Bottled in Bond Bourbon would be leaving Indiana for good. I must admit that I almost shed a tear when I heard the news that this elusive brand (previously only available in Indiana and Kentucky) was to become a Kentucky exclusive. Paddy
^^^One more reason to drive to Kentucky, and still priced under $11 (per 750).

I can find it in Indy for $10.99. This particular store was advertising it at $14.99. I will be honest I enjoy it enough to have a pour or two neat occasionally but I really love it for cookie recipes!

I know of a couple that still have a good amount on hand, but I think it will probably be a ghost in a few months.

HHBIB is on the bigger list, but I considered it out of production. It will probably all be gone by the time I make it back to KY.
musekatcher
After a little more research, I'm trying to down-select sub-$15 brands for a sip-off poll. The following 5 brands are the most widely available straight bourbons, aged 4+ years, representing the 5 largest distilleries. Several distilleries had multiple qualifiers, so I selected the higher proof to only have one per distillery. I'd like comments on the selections, availability, distillery representation, etc. Edited January 14, 2017 by musekatcher
Golzee
Drank some Old Fitz Prime tonight. You could do a whole lot worse for $11. Someday I will find the BIB.

The 80 proof HH we get here in MI is 36 months old and not very good. I'd drink it if scotch were the other choice, but that's not saying much. On the other hand, I'd say it's better than Old Crow, but that and Mattingly & Moore are the worst bourbons I've ever had.
