Marvin
I dug way down into the piggy bank as the bunker was getting low and off I went to restock. Had a list of bourbons that one would have to mortgage the farm to purchase and I grabbed me a big cart and through the aisles I went!! I got to thinking about all those fine bourbons and it suddenly came to me - the ones I truly like was not the high dollar ones - so I grabbed me two cases of Buffalo Trace (the 1.75 Liter), two cases of AAA (the 1.75 Liter), three cases of Heaven Hill 10 YO BB, and one case of VOB BB (1.75 Liter) and on the way out grabbed a bottle of Russell's Reserve, just for a treat, and one bottle of 1792 and to the check-out counter I go ----My wife passes out ----so I buy a lotto ticket in hopes for a quick return. Life is good and here is a toast to all of you and a special toast to my friend, Bettye Jo . Cheers, Marvin

OneCubeOnly
...two cases of AAA (the 1.75 Liter)...Does Ohio sell the "10 Star" or 10 Year?Congrats on the bunker resupply! It's a great feeling having backup like that!
bobbyc
I thought I heard a ChaChing at Heaven Hill, Bartons and Buffalo Trace. You have the right idea Marvin, I have thought about putting together my drinking stash out of 1.75s. Life IS Grand!
Marvin
Ohio has the Ten Star, what I am talking about is the AAA 10 YO that is purchased in Kentucky. I buy all my bourbon in Kentucky, since I am from Cincinnati Kentucky . Just kidding about Cincinnati, KY, but I do buy all my bourbon in KY since Ohio has very little to offer. jimbo
OK, Marvin! The only one you bought that I have tried is the Russell's Reserve. Great choice. Please let us know what you buy in April. Regards, jimbo
BSS
Heres my question, do you own a bar, do a lot of entertaining or will that just last like 10 years?
Buckky
Marvin....which liquor store in N.Ky has the best selection ?...I have been to Corknbottle and Party Source which I assume is where you got your haul but are there any other ones you like...there must be 20 in Covington alone. My guess is your bill at the checkout was at least $1400 bucks...how close am I?

Paradox
, yeah Marvin is just a pure bourbon enthusiast like me. Loves drinkin' it and collecting it too.
texascarl
If I went out and had that much fun whiskey shopping my ex-wife would appear out of nowhere & throw a bottle at me (one I'll have to pay for) then disappear again until I had another nickels worth of fun. Mean woman. Pretty, but mean as a snake. But I digress, that sounds like a nice bunkerload. Sound choices.
Marvin
Buckky,You are about half right on price as there is only 6 bottles to a case of the 1.75 Liter and I assume you thought it was 12. As for where I like to buy my bourbon I buy it at Mr. G's, off Rt. 42 and I75 in Florence, KY. Not only are they very nice people they give me a 10% discount on all bourbon. They used to just give me a 10% discount if I purchased a case, but it is now whether I buy one bottle or mix them up. There are a few bottles, like Russell Reserve, that they cannot discount, but usually after I buy several cases, they usually give me a bottle free, of my choice of course, as long as it is a reasonable request. I also buy some of my bourbon at the Cork & Bottle because I know Timothy Hue, who owns the place, and he usually manages to give me a bottle every now and then. Timothy is a very nice person and I have the up-most respect for him. I hope this answers your question satisfactorily.Cheers,Marvin
Buckky
Thanks...will definately try Mr.G's when next in N.Ky. Have not been buying in cases but at the great prices you got, maybe I should start. BT, Weller12 and AAA10yr are what I would buy in cases. I like Old Charter alot also but you don't see that many places.
