Yeah..I thought that was odd.  May be talking about EMPTY bottles.  Although I've seen recommendations to break glass bottles, especially of high end whiskeys, to combat counterfeiting.

With empty Pappy bottles selling for $80 on certain unnamed websites you can be certain the counterfeiters are real.

Yes, I found that most peculiar as well. Still, a link from a major producer's web site isn't something I'm going to complain about!

I repectfully disagree. Makers Mark is not representing the core value of SB.com.

 

How can people be critized for such questions when SB.com approves of that message?

Yeah, when I saw this thread I thought "That's awesome!"  And when I read their referral, I thought "Oooo . . . . that could get ugly".  

 

Hopefully their FAQ is like the FAQ on many other web-sites (and frequently avoided).
