Yup. Those are the current labels.

Thanks. Have not seen them around here yet, for sure ECBP. Have the recipies changed? The only EC I have is with the number 12. Have not drank anything besides those.

No change in recipe. Just the loss of age statement on the small batch bottle. Barrel Proof is still 12yo.

Glad to know on the recipe. This is the 3rd bottle/label combo in just a few years, right?  I have a bottle of ECSB new bottle/label coming. I thought I had something that I've not tried before, not, no problem.

Same recipe but how much younger? Fighting cock lost it's age statement and the new ones taste thinner and the alcohol more bitter. Seems like it's 4 years at best now.

They have the new label EC here but it's priced suspiciously low at $16.99. The 12 age statement were typically $25 but sometimes on sale for $22.99. Makes me wonder why the new ones are priced so low.

It's a blend of 8-12 years now. Not that much younger. The price is either a mistake or an introductory price to get people to try it.

I would buy one, try it, and stock up if I liked it at that price. Like Steve said, it's not that much younger and some members here have preferred the NAS version.

I agree at that price I'd load up - I had quite a bit of this during KBF last year and thought it was very good - good enough that although I have EC12 on hand that I bought when I could find it I don't think I will cry too much if the new version is all I can find going forward. Particularly at <$20

Get one and try it out. If all is good, go for it.

Nice to know. I believe I saw some online for under $20 or so, and was thinking never seen this one before, but for that price, I shy'ed away also. I need to get out more often, and drink these bottles sooner.:)

Man, I'd buy a case at $17 a bottle for EC NAS. It runs $25 to $30 a bottle here

Where are you looking? I see the NAS all over CT, as well as a few BP.

The new bottles are all over Chicago, but no barrel proof, which I've never actually seen the wild for well over a year.  I like the old bottle a lot better

Has anyone noticed a difference in taste after the change to the taller bottle? I found some NAS with the older bottle style wondering if I should go for that over the newer bottle.

Very little difference to me if at all. Both are still really good.

My first experience was blind side by side (EC SB NAS vs EC SB 1789 was, "Thank goodness its still good"!  Then I made the mistake of opening a bottle of aged stated EC12!  What a difference!  More caramel, more vanilla, thicker on the palette, wonderful.  There is also a difference between the new ECSB 1789 vs EC SB NAS old style bottle for me.  It is harder to discern the difference but it is there.  Your palette may vary.

I've bunkered a lot of EC12 (ASOB....age statement on back) -- and still see lots of it.  And am always tempted to buy buy buy because it's a classic and it's gone and my sense is it will soon be fetching much more than the 30+ I see it for so often.

I picked one 750 of EC12ASOB up today. Left one 750 and two 1.75s on the shelf.
