Even to a layman, that statement says there's nothing precise or consistent about this concoction. Additionally, the article says FRSiB is probably a component and with any SB, the bourbon can vary from barrel to barrel, further undercutting the a main premise of the article. Same goes for components like Stagg, Jr., which was intimated to be a component, those come in batches that can have significant variations. There's no way this stuff comes out tasting the same every time. It's also not as legendary as the author thinks, because to my knowledge, it's never been mentioned around here, and we're super smart about this stuff. Yea, obviously he never adjusts his measurements for the BP offerings that change proof from batch to batch. I enjoyed the quote, "Friendly guy that he is, Strongwater is always willing to accommodate a few random strangers, so long as they have someone to vouch that they intend to drink (and not sell) California Gold." The article was insanely over the top, though. He has a point about Willett, though. Everyone goes crazy about it but nobody knows what WFE really is. They are really just master-vatters themselves. I find it ironic that the same FB crazies who pay an arm and a leg on secondary markets for WFE (or Kentucky Owl or the Luxco vat I can't even remember right now or whatever NDP vat you can think of) think this guy is full of beans. That guy seemed to go out of his way to show how much he loves ordinary or out of favor things just to prove he's down with the hipsters (or because it's ironic).
