Check out this guy's jaw dropping bunker. He's got both kinds of boubon: Pappy AND Willet! Unbelievable!

It's better than my collection, but I've seen more impressive ones in the Show us your Bunker thread

I did see some HH6BIB right behind the pappy.

I'm pretty sure this guy is an ardent enthusiast and not just someone with a bunch of money to spend...

Not so much mocking the guy as the dumb article calling it the best bar in NY. Writer seems easily impressed.

The writer focused on the pappy. I guess that's what most would be interested in. I didn't realize you were mocking...

3. Old Forester Birthday Bourbon

12. Hibiki 17

13. Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur

The particular type of bourbon within the brand should be added too (Parkers Heritage 27 year e.g.)

A couple of the pics in the article are taken from a little closer although some bottles are moved around. Looks like a decent collection.

Should have used the [sarcasm font].

His bar and collection are fine but at an average night at the Gazebo, his collection wouldn't even break the top ten.

" Allen Katz is exceptional among New York saloonkeepers in that his bar, the Shanty, operates under a license held by his distillery, New York Distilling Co. in Brooklyn. "

I do find this exceptional, not his 'collection' or the bar, but it seems he has circumvented New York state alcohol beverage control law §101.

To wit;

1. It shall be unlawful for a manufacturer or wholesaler licensed under this chapter to

(a) Be interested directly or indirectly in any premises where any alcoholic beverage is sold at retail;  or in any business devoted wholly or partially to the sale of any alcoholic beverage at retail by stock ownership, interlocking directors, mortgage or lien or any personal or real property, or by any other means.

Oh and the fact that he needs ~$800 worth of shakers and strainers to make a cocktail.

Meh. I've seen much better bunkers from SB.com members. In fact, I've seen pictures of a single liquor store purchase more impressive than this.

Ha! He is apparently the "luxury beat" writer for Bloomberg. Whatever that means.

The collection notwithstanding, the bar itself is beautiful.
