EarthQuake
Check out Ace Spirits in Hopkins, MN 55343. They have a number of single barrel store picks currently, including KC and FR. http://www.acespirits.com/exclusive-whiskey-barrels-ace-spirits.html Ace is one of my favorite stores because they have $10 flat rate shipping to Iowa, and have a great selection with fairly good prices. Generally not the absolute lowest I can find, but usually about as good or slightly better when accounting for the cheap shipping. CardsandBourbon
I've had great luck recently with the KCSiB store picks. Ask them if they know the age of the barrel. The 12 & 13 year old barrels have been outstanding.
EarthQuake
The one at Ace is a 12 year.
Jazz Nut
Hi All, I live in the Twin Cities area, and would recommend: Ace Spirits: Four Roses Single Barrel (just got it in), I forget if it's OBSK, but it's big and spicy. They usually always have a KCSB, or Eagle Rare on hand. They also had an ECSB, but it sold out already. South Lyndale Liquors: Russell's Reserve Single Barrel (I'd rate it an 87/100, oaky, sweet, funky, sippable at 110 proof), Old Forester Private Selection (may be out of it), KCSB, and a TON of open samples Premier Wine and Spirits: They just got in a very good barrel of Four Roses, just opened it but tasty. They may still have a few bottles of Russell's Reserve Single Barrel, and just got in an 11 year ECSB. G-Will Liquors: Fairly good, but way off profile barrel of Russell's Reserve, newer ok barrel of Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit. At one time they had several barrels of KCSB, I think they still have Eagle Rare, and Buffalo Trace store selects. France 44 usually has several single barrels too, but I don't go there often. Those are the ones off the top of my head that I go to on the regular, hopefully that is helpful!
BottledInBond
I am also a Twin Cities local. Regarding Ace, if they still have any left I liked the Eagle Rare barrel they got recently. Haven't tried the KCSB yet. if they still have it, Vintage in Chanhassen was selling a KCSB barrel pick for $30. It might not be the very best KCSB I've ever had but it is good and at that price a solid value. South Lyndale seems to always have an FR barrel. They also do some store selects that I think are stupid like Jefferson's. If you like Rye they often have High West variants with extra barrel finishes. Shorewood gets barrels fairly frequently and his picks are usually good. He might be out of the recent ones now but he just went to KY to pick a couple more barrels I believe. BottledInBond
Total Wine has a single barrel select ER10 for $27.99 right now. Picked one up at the Chanhassen store
