One of the few advantages of living here i guess.... (coming from someone that grew up in Woodbridge lol)

Guess what I'm the proud new owner of? :D Thanks for sharing the super secret password and handshake. I called my local ABC and they didn't have it but she referred me to another and they did have it. $25.43 with tax for OWA. Thanks again for passing this news along.

Well, good for you.  The one on the left dressed in orange is my go-to.  The middle two are about as old as I go, bourbon agewise.  I pay special attention to sales on them AND to the bottle number on the HMcK.  Once in awhile, I get an HMcK BIB that is worth my clearing the shelf.  Of more than one store if the numbers match.  Others have mentioned Redemption.  I don't disagree.  Sometimes that mint bomb spice hits the spot.

EDIT - Just thinking about these is making my mouth water.

I was going to suggest a couple of 4RSB and a 4RSmB, or 4 OWA.

Was thinking the same thing on some good Barrel Proofs! Couple FRSB's, ECBP's, or SAOS's. Most of us already have variety though. Good choices BrownHound.

I agree with the 4 OWA idea Will.

Those 4 are all good choices.  ER and McKenna are top notch in that price range.

I'm surprised I didn't get a call. I'll have to stop by tomorrow and see if she's got any left

I think that is a new bottle for the redemption. Can you tell us if it still says aged at least 12 months on it?

You may know this already, but another thing of note for the VA ABC stores is that they don't all have the same stuff on the shelves.  The store in Amherst is a nice little store, but some of the ones in Lynchburg have a larger selection.

That's the thanks we get in NoVa, we pretty much carry the tax base for the rest of the state and when the ABC gets the good stuff they send it down state.

I bet NOVA gets it too. The problem is that they keep this one off the website so it's all about knowing when they get it. I've got a bottle of EH Taylor Single Barrel this way before.

I think you'll enjoy all of those. I would have gone with Dickel Rye instead, as some others suggested, but I don't know if that is as readily available in your area. Cheers!

It was there as well. Price was higher than expected (was 30 as well), so I'll get that next time if I catch a sale.

Thanks. The Dickel wouldn't have been on my radar without the recommendations. Appreciate it.

My favorite from that photo is the McKenna 10yr. I was enjoying the heck out of it last night!

Nice picks up on the OGD, McKenna and ER. I probably would have leaned towards the Baby Saz myself if the price were right but you have some interesting variety there.

But man, does that Redemption look pale! I know the new bottle is wide and skinny but still. I don't see any pickles floating in it but I bet they are in there... :D

I strongly consisted pickling up an old style bottle at 19.99, but decided to pass since the Dickel was only 21.99, and is 3 years older. I still want to give it a try.
