Thoughts on buying a belle and Meade single barrel 10 year for $65

I am curious about the profile, if you know first hand.  Based on its provenance, I would wildly guess that it shares some characteristics of SAOS bourbons of about the same age.  What do you think?  Thx.

Yes, SAOS barrels are the same profile. But OS is better bourbon to me. BM is good though.

I love these Belle Meade single barrels. They are very nice, and like others have mentioned, are similar to SAOS SBs, in that they are good quality and worth the price. I have a bunch of them and always try to grab them when I see them at $60-65 or less.

I think my price point for MGP Barrel Proofs these days is lower still some SAOS SB CS around for around $50 and Backbone Uncut is around 8 yrs old on the shelf at TW for $40 here so I would go to those first. Belle Meade isn't distributed to NY or NJ so it's a non issue unless I ordered online, but for the money TWCP still has plenty of SAOS Cask strength at a better price.

You might want to recheck that one. They were out last time I was there and said they aren't getting any more

Ahh that sucks, they are generally more expensive elsewhere but still below the $65 for the Belle Meade, that would be my choice still, barring that or other cheaper MGP barrel proofs, it's not a terrible price.
