Old Medley 12 Year

I saw a few bottles of this at a store I visited for the first time recently. I think the price was around $50. Anyone ever try this, and if so is it worth the asking price? From what I've found on the Internet, the family involved has actually been in the business for generations and also makes Walthen's, which I haven't tried either. All of this appears to be sourced, but some reviews that I've found were pretty favorable. Anyway, I'm trying to decide whether or not to pick up a bottle the next time I'm there, so I'd appreciate any thoughts from my fellow SBers.

I have a bottle of this. It's okay. I think it's a bit overpriced and one dimensional for what I paid (also around $50). I guess I don't regret buying it, as I have certainly had worse, but I would not buy another.

Ive seen the 12 yr but never spent the money on it. Ive had their Medley Brothers, and it was ok, but wouldnt buy another as there are better choices for my taste in the $25 range and some that are even less.

I have a couple bottles a picked off the clearance rack for 25 each if I remember right. Its got some nice characteristics. I personally wouldn't do 50

^^^THIS!^^^   I agree with what silverc says.   I might modify the words; "a bit overpriced" to say; 'overpriced, for sure', or something like that. 

It's not something i will ever buy again, for sure at $50, maybe at any price.    It just isn't that special.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I'll probably pass on this unless the owner decides to put it on the clearance rack for 50% off or thereabouts.

Like whiskeythink, I've also had the Medley Brothers. I agree with what he said. Okay, but probably won't buy another. Save your money for something better Jeff.
