May I ask why?

I’d go back and read the rest of this thread, as well as other threads regarding Michters (Chatham) and Magliocco. Plenty of people have negative opinions of  him and his company for a few reasons. The Black Tot summarized some of the hate specific to the Bomberger and Shenk products and the shenanigans (bullying) of the S&W startup. There is other hate for other reasons. Some people just don’t like NDPs, especially those that aren’t transparent to consumers, some would even say deceptive. Others think their product quality dropped off after they ran out of their original sourced stocks, and they responded by continuing to increase their prices. I’ve got plenty of opinions on the matter as do others. Most of them negative on this site.

it was more or less covered above

These two were released while Michter's was squeezing Stoll and Wolfe with lawsuits after S+W tried to propose using the Bomberger's name.

Like Joe Magliocco basically appropriated the Michter's brand because it had fallen out of some sort of patent, once he saw someone else try to use Bomberger's (Stoll and Wolfe are authentic Pennsylvania distillers, and Dick Stoll was the OLD Michter's master distiller), he pounced, sued, and almost squeezed the small startup out of business. The original PA Michter's distillery was originally called the Bomberger's distillery, if memory serves.

Presumably to strengthen his rights to these other two classic Pennsylvania brand names, he released these two sourced bourbon products as placeholders, to strengthen his claims to appropriating the brands for himself. Now he has a product bearing the name, and a precedent.

He's a real class act.

THAT's why we don't buy Michter's. And especially why we don't buy THESE, because these are literally part of the foundation for his appropriating another two historic Pennsylvania brands.

It takes a real special something to try and legally choke a startup distillery who has as one of it's partners the master distiller that built the reputation of the brand name that you ganked.

On top of that the price of Michter's on spec compared to other producers has historically been pretty bad. Interestingly in this age of hype around Non-Chill Filtered Whiskey, Michter's still retains it's hype despite the fact that filtration is key to their brands, which isn't to say that NCF is the be all end all, it very much is not.

I don't like the back story.

Also, the price seems way out of line for what it is.  It's an easy pass for me.

Whatever they're filling those bottles with, it's for sale in almost every store. ?

No thanks

QFT.  Well said.  Boycott Michter's.
