Smooth Ambler visit. How would you handle?

Wife and I had a wonderful visit to smooth Ambler today. Rebecca and Harris were fantastic. One problem.

I asked for 3 single barrel BP. 3 of the American whiskey and bought a couple gins.

They boxed and taped it up. I paid and carried out.

When I got home to unpack it, insane he gave 3 contradiction instead of the SBBP (which is the one I most was looking for- and most expensive. )

Will they be able to send correct to VA, or am I going to have to drive back up there (4 hours round trip).

Don't want to fuss too much as I'm sure it was an honest mistake, but this will be a big inconvenience to drive back up to get the right stuff.

Any suggestions?

Yeah, just let them know what happened.  They will take care of it.  They might be able to provide a refund for the difference or allow you a credit for your next visit. I am not certain about VA shipping laws but they might be able to ship replacements.

Call and see if they can mail you the right ones.  I think (but you need to check yourself) that getting a few bottles of liquor mailed to you in VA is legal.  It would just depend on what the shipping laws are for WV.

Funny coincidence...I'm currently sitting in a hotel in WV and heading back to VA in a little while.

That happens quite a bit. From what I'm told. ;)

Yeah, I'm actually coming back from WI, and already spent my allocated cash plus some on stuff I found up that way...so no booze purchases here unfortunately.

If you haven't been. Stop by SA next time through.

Yea. I looked and I believe they can ship if licensed in va which I assume they are since va abc does carry one if there products.

Hopefully they can accommodate

NOTICE: a bit off-thread here; but I'm reminded of a time when I had a similar experience, having stopped at a different retailer.    It was several years ago in Frankfort KY, when I visited Capital Cellars (or is that Capitol Cellars?).

Anyway, I asked for three bottles of Weller 12-year along with one each of 3-other Bourbons.     I wasn't paying close attention as the fellow behind the counter packed the case in which my order was presented to me.    I quickly reviewed the printed receipt which accurately reflected everything I had asked for.    When I arrived in Bardstown a couple hours later, I opened the box to grab one of the W-12's and, lo and behold the 3-12's weren't there!    In there place were 3-OWA's!    A brand that was somewhat less expensive, and certainly not what I paid for, nor what was shown on my receipt.     I telephoned Capital Cellars and explained the situation and said that I was only in B'town for a night, and would be returning to Michigan the following morning with no opportunity to re-visit Frankfort.     The lady with whom I spoke on the phone (the owner or manager, I believe) asked how long I'd be at The General Nelson, and said she'd try to get the matter corrected before I left KY.    I gave her my room number and the telephone number, and that's how we left it.     Imagine my surprise when about 90-minutes later I heard a knock on my motel-room-door.     There with the 3 Weller-12's was a young man asking my name.    I told him.    He presented the 3-bottles to me, and as I turned to grab the 3-OWA's, he said to keep those, and wouldn't take no for an answer.

That, my friends is the very definition of customer service!

Fantastic. Hopefully I'll have a similar experience. I'll update when I call tomorrow.

Richmond one of the best stories of customer service I've ever heard. I'm curious is it Capital or Capitol?
