VOB BIB has a new neck label.

Well, new to me, anyway.

 

VOB BIB changed its neck label by removing the "6" and replacing it with "100 proof".  Also, I don't think I previously had noticed until I compared bottles that Barton dropped "Hand" from "Hand crafted" when it dropped the 6 year age statement and replaced it with "6".

 

But then, I pay more attention to what's inside my candy bars than I do to the wrappers.

 

Edit - Uh, I also just noticed the difference in fill levels.  Note that the later bottles are the same, but BOTH are slightly less than the age stated.  Coincidence?

Good catch.  I wonder what exactly "Crafted" really means anyway.  I guess it sounds better than "Crafted by programmed robots"

It's more lighting than actual.  I noticed the same thing and moved the bottles around like a three-card Monte shuffler.  Whichever bottle was on the left always looked darker.

It also looks like there is a little guy inside the bottle taking pictures of me.  Weird and a bit spooky.

Thanks for posting this Harry. I must admit that I paid no attention to the labels when I bought one a few days ago. FWIW, the one I bought is the new label.

The 6 coming off is a good thing. If it doesn't mean anything, it's just misleading. Just like the debate over the Old Charter 8 remaining on the bottle despite no longer saying 8 years.

Oh, interesting. I can't give you a picture (my phone camera is terrible), but I bought a case of VOB BIB right after the age statement was removed, and while the neck label only has the numeral 6, it does still say "Hand Crafted" below that.
