Mrs. F and I returned yesterday from an RV trip to Alaska. In Canada, we ran out of bourbon. (Gasp!) Went to a liquor store where we found EW Blk for $30.80--a 750, not a handle. It was only $Canadian, still $30 for $13 bourbon seemed a little steep. We decided to tough it out for two days until we could get back into the Good Ol' USA. In Eureka, MT went immediately to the liquor store where they had several options: cinnamon flavored bourbon, honey flavored bourbon, vanilla flavored, cherry flavored, apple flavored. Not a single bottle of bourbon flavored bourbon. On advice of counsel, I won't mention store name to avoid possible libel or slander charges. But in a town with one liquor store it is not all that hard to figure out.

Any of you have a more reprehensible example to share?

In my travels I have run into some real turds myself.  Usually they are in rural or "lower rent" areas.  This is why I usually travel with a couple of bottles from my own stash when I can.

We do too. Had the max the Canadians would allow but still ran two days short. Must learn to measure daily doses more precisely.
