Don't have many that I would consider treasures but if I had to pick I would start with the Old Ezra 101 15 year old (distilled in 1966, bottled in 1981).  Next would be Booker's 2017-01, not so much of the juice, which is good, but the fact that I bought two bottles, one for me and one for my new grandson that hopefully he and I will uncork on September 8, 2038 and share on his 21st birthday.  Third bottle would be . . . um, I guess my bottle of W12 since my buddy "The Black Tot" hooked me up with it when I couldn't find it anywhere, and because I'm a Weller slut (since Joe has the Weller whore title).

Although I love my FR collection, these are probably my treasures because they are pretty much irreplaceable.

I'm gonna go with potential street value and relative obscurity for my three.  With that criteria I'd have to say the following:

-Parker's Heritage Golden Anniversary

-Vanwinkle Family Reserve 13 year rye

-Black Maple Hill 23 year rye

 

If I were to go with sentimental value/what I like it'd be GTS, ECBP and Thomas Handy rye.

I guess "Treasures" would have to be the '16 THH (my first and only BTAC acquisition) and my PVW 23 (again, first and only) although neither are located in the bunker any more, they're both open and on the back bar.

The "treasures" I have in the bunker would have to be the 6 ECBP C916 (136°) I was able to acquire; It is one of my absolute favorites.

#1 -- VWSR Lot B 12 yr from 2016.  Haven't tasted it yet, but consider it a treasurer just because I'm unlikely to get one again.  Got an ORVW 10 at the same time (both close to MSRP) that was fantastic, so I expect this will be excellent.

#2 -- Blanton's Gold edition.  I won't be making it abroad for some time, so this will remain a treasure for the same reason as the above.  

#3 --  Booker's Bluegill Creek batch.  Not that its particularly special, but I enjoyed Booker's quite a bit a few years ago, and this was the last release I found pre-price hike.  I have difficultly justifying paying over $100 for it now, so this will likely remain the only Booker's in my collection for some time.

Have multiples of everything except the Hirsch.  Retirement, future grandchildren...lot's to look forward to!!

 1) The 1991 rear breed,  I think there was one batch before this one, but it was still part of the original release.  This is the last bottle I have of that batch. Several years ago I went to the wild turkey distillery. I brought that bottle along with a Russels Reserve 101 for Jimmy Russell to sign.  My plan was to open them and drink them with him after he signed the bottles, but he would have no part of it, he told me to keep them, it was a treasure and he had had some years ago and it was his favorite bourbon (RB '91) that he had bottled. It can not be replaced. 

 

2) RR 101 that Jimmy signed. 

 

3)  Vintage 17-year-old.  I only have two of these bottles left,  it is one of my all-time favorite bourbons, but I keep them to remind me when you find a bourbon you love buy what you can afford because I let a lot of V17 sit on the shelf for years  thinking I could go back and get some more later.

Excluding some older bourbon (18y and up) its the best I've ever had. At one time I had a case of 375ml bottles.

Ha, ha - now you're talkin'!  Best I've done with Rare Breed are the recent 375s from the VABC stores.  Still wondering what older "rear breed" tastes like, tho' . . . . .

2. W12 since it is the one and only bottle I've come across at MSRP. (Also the only one I've bought since I don't like to give into the price gauging). Opened it right away to try with my brother.

I was taking an inventory of my stash today, when I ran across a bottle that I had almost forgotten about. It isn't a a full bottle, but an empty sealed one. A long time ago, I got in touch with Dave Ziegler and asked him if he could help me out with a little bourbon art project that I was working on. I was looking for some bottle labels to use in a collage. Well, he came through in a big way. Not only did he send me some labels, but he also sent some old tax strips, and a lot of other things from back in the day when he worked at the Kinsey Distillery in Pennsylvania. Among the many items he sent me were an empty sealed bottle of Haller's, and a winged bottle cap from one of their other whiskies. Really historical items, and pretty cool too. Thanks again Dave. 

 

This is another sentimental bottle that ranks right up there along side my top three.

You'll likely be able to get them again. They're making way more of it than ever. Even WT12 may logically return given time.

Those are all first ballot hall of fame pours. I have WT13 on the way from Europe. Hope it's close to as good as the older WT12 I have tried.

I have an empty (which is actually the only empty I've ever kept) that ranks up there with some of my favorites. A bottle of PHC #1 that was signed by Parker. I was a bourbon drinker before PHC came out, but I was content to drink HHBIB and a few other pours most of the time. That PHC1 was the bottle that opened my eyes to a much larger obsession. 

 

Other than that my others would would be tanked Saz and older Stagg as far as sealed bottles in the bunker.

So many choices, so little desire to try to choose between them.

 

My favorite bourbon may well be the HHSS #2. But there are certainly a lot contenders for the title.

 

I do like the Compass Box General but I think the Hedonism Maximus is my favorite of that group with a Caol Ila 30yo and a Bowmore Port Matured 16yo a close second. So different and yet all are so good!

 

Do love me some Irish Whiskey as well but not sure I could choose between Barry Crockett Legacy, the Redbreast 21 or the Teeling 21. And I got to try the Teeling 24 at Whiskyfest recently. If I had mine own bottle to do a through evaluation it could be in that group as well!

 

And I feel like I have barely scratched the surface.

The WT13 is a fantastic pour. Much softer than the 12 but also a little less ballsy. Shares some similarities though. It reminds me a lot to the Weller 12 or Pappy I had as weird as it may sound given the high rye mash bill of WT in general.

Actually I could get some Weller 12, but for more than double price I paid before. Not going there (yet).
