Actually I could get some Weller 12, but for more than double price I paid before. Not going there (yet).

You're right not to go there. Once supply returns these bottlenappers won't be able to hold these products for ransom anymore.

Stay strong.

Top 3 for sentimental reasons:

1. The Balvenie 30 yr purchased during a 7 day Scotch distillery trip with 4 additional couples.  We had a wonderful time and I plan to open it on a reunion trip in a couple of years.

2. 1972 Asbach purchased in Germany while visiting some dear friends.  They now live in Charlottesville and we will open and reminisce this Christmas.

3. John E Fitzgerald Reserve that has been opened but  I am saving the last few pours for my Bourbon loving daughter's wedding.   It will be so special for us both as she told me a few weeks ago that she figured that since she was my daughter she decided that the only true way to enjoy Bourbon was straight or with a large cube.  She has developed her pallet quite well over the last 7years.   I'll probably be a wreck but it will be a special time for us both!

#3.  2012 William Larue Weller.

#2.  Parker's Heritage Golden Anniversary.

#1.  A.H. Hirsch 16-yr.

Numbers 3 and 2 are the best whiskeys I've ever tasted.  #1 is a unicorn of course that I haven't tasted yet.  You know what?  My 50th birthday, that's it.  That's when I'll open the Hirsch.  It's still 2+ years away but that's the day.  I just concluded that right here and now.

1. L,S&B, two 16yo bottles & one 13yo bottle.

2. Heaven Hill BIB. Because I live 1000 miles from a bottle in the store.

3. two bottles of Collingwood 21.

Great post idea. I'm not as sophisticated or knowledgeable as many of the members here. I'm relatively new to the bourbon hobby (within past 3 years or so).

My prized possession isn't much but I don't know if I will ever open it unless I find a 2nd bottle. I found it during Xmas/New Year last year, when I stopped past Bardstown. My wife is from Lexington (thank god!) and every time we visit I stop past Willett and HH on our road trip from Murfreesboro. I like EC23 because it pre-dates the HH fire of '96 which I think is a cool "fact" of the bottle.

Thanks all for sharing. Some really interesting bottles you have. Awesome stuff....and jealous!

Taylor Fladgate Vintage Port 1977 - gift from my wife.

HHSS #2 (of which only a half inch remains) for obvious reasons.

Not sure I have a third single I'd consider a "treasure".  I do love all the rest of my bunker pretty much as a group.

In no particular order,

Parker's Heritage Golden Anniversary

A few Four Roses bottles signed by Jim Rutledge

Two bottles of Weller 12 from a case I purchased about 5 years ago

I've slowed my bourbon drinking down in the past year.  The opportunities to drink bourbon with other bourbon enthusiasts have not been presenting themselves very much as of late.

I have decided to save several of my bunkered bottles for when my 14 year son comes of age.  I hope he will one day appreciate my restraint.

1. Heaven Hill Select Stock SB.com

2. GTS.  My only survivor from before the boom.

3. Elijah Craig 18 SB.  Years ago I bought 5 bottles for about $40 each.  I gifted 3 and kept 2.  One of the best I've had, leagues better than other EC18s I've had.

First two both sentimental (and also favorites). There's probably a bunch o' things I could choose for a third "treasure," but I figure two is good enough. Story time....

#1 Knob Creek single-barrel at barrel proof aka "the Employees Cut".

I work for a store that makes an annual pilgrimage to Kentucky to private select barrels, which is great fun.  So, several months after selection the bottles arrive along with the empty barrel (if we want it, for display or whatever). So, one year, our Knob Creek barrel arrives with about a gallon and a half sloshing around in the bottom. Industrious, the staff dumped the remaining black liquid and then filtered it through several layers of coffee filters. Then, divvied up the loot into equal rations. Amazing.

#2 circa-2009-10 Wild Turkey Rye 101, prior to discontinuation (and return)

I started my whiskey journey on rye whiskey and quickly identified Wild Turkey Rye 101 as my favorite. When rumors rumbled about discontinuation I wasted not time scouring the far-flung areas for remaining bottles.  Already not very common in New York, I visited a lot of smaller, rural stores. Collected 14 bottles, all told. Still have about four after drinking and gifting.

73 Old Taylor BIB

78 Old Forester BIB

Small bottle of Old Taylor I can't remember the age of, I think it's 86 proof from the 1980s.

Don't have many that I would consider treasures but if I had to pick I would start with the Old Ezra 101 15 year old (distilled in 1966, bottled in 1981).  Next would be Booker's 2017-01, not so much of the juice, which is good, but the fact that I bought two bottles, one for me and one for my new grandson that hopefully he and I will uncork on September 8, 2038 and share on his 21st birthday.  Third bottle would be . . . um, I guess my bottle of W12 since my buddy "The Black Tot" hooked me up with it when I couldn't find it anywhere, and because I'm a Weller slut (since Joe has the Weller whore title).

Well I had posted earlier, on my birthday I just noticed, and since that time I would have to change one.  I would replace the W12 with the bottle of EW18 I recently acquired.

With plenty of options, went with these three (my personal favorite, the best I’ve had and my first rare bourbon, also threw a sentimental in there)

Parker’s Golden Anniversary - the best of the best, given to me by my brother for my wedding, the inspiration for keeping the collection going each year even as the prices have skyrocketed. Crazy to think I paid the same amount for the 27 year as the 11 year that was released this year.

PVW15 - SW that lives up to the hype.

GTS ‘09 - The Origin of my collecting, I give thanks to this being the enabler of my habit. The antique collection as a whole was fun to chase. Damn near impossible now.

JJB ‘12 - Not the flashiest bourbon in the collection, but one that when I see I reflect on how life is short, it’s nice to have a pour. While traveling out east for work before the holiday and my 30th, I stopped at the Bowman distillery. Had the opportunity to meet Truman Cox, talk some bourbon and enjoy the tour. Two weeks after that, he passed. Still one I enjoy every once in awhile, drink it while you can.

My top three would have to be:

- 2017 GTS that I just got

- RHF (my favorite pour - I just can't find any around me)

- W12 (I'm not a HUGE W12 fan (I know, blasphemy around these parts) but keep this around for those who do want it

Cheers!

I'm not sure it counts since I'm actively drinking them all, but:

ECBP (Batch C916) - totally opened my eyes to big, bold flavors of barrel proofers!

W12 - first acquisition I was really excited about, helps that the flavors really work with my palate

KO Rye - recent acquisition but  confirmed my love of cask strength ryes, definitely a special bottle
