Decisions, Decisions ???

  1. 1. OK,  I'm retiring next April and at work they decided to have a retirement party for me recently.  Since they couldn't find any of the bourbons that I mentioned they ended up giving me the cash ($125.00) so I could buy my own when I found something. Would love to have a GTS or WLW but around here, that ain't happening, and even if I did find one the price would probably preclude purchase.  So of the ones that I can find locally here are my options. I'm not a fan of WT 101 (sacrilege I know to some of you) as it is thin and flat to my palate.  Although I do enjoy the WTRB 116.8 and the RR Single Barrel. Also not usually a fan of the Beam labeled products.  But I do enjoy KC, Baker's and Booker's.  Yes I know that some of the prices are above retail but that's what they have them priced at and they actually have them.

Plus DCFan & 0895 made good points about 1) It would celebrate my decades of work and 2) I would always remember why I bought it.  Thanks to everyone that voted.

Excellent reasons for your decision, I hope you enjoy and stay safe up until your retirement and beyond.

As I stated in the "What did you purchase today" thread, you chose wisely. I picked up another bottle last week at a store that has it for the lowest price in my area so I'd have it to give to my brother in law for his 50th birthday next year. I'm thinking I may cutout the number "5" from a "sticky note" and stick it in front of "Decades" on the box before I give it to him.

I think that would be a cool thing to do.  Will make it just a little bit more special.  Love my BIL's but don't know whether I love them a bottle of Decades worth. :D

Well, we only see each other every few years, and he and my SIL have done some special things over the years on some of our special occasions, so I don't mind doing something special for him on such a special occasion.

Congrats on the retirement.  From your list, Decades seemed to have better reviews recently.  Diamond has been discounted in my local stores, and the Orphan is scarce here so might be higher than your range.
