I will be headed to Washington DC next week for family vacation. We will be staying in Bethesda MD. I am from the Texas are so I am curious if anyone has any suggestions of good LS to go to in this area. I will Be mostly using the subways around DC and surrounding areas.

Any good suggestions of good bourbons that are readily available in this are that are difficult to find in the south.

Thanks for any thoughts.

This being the most powerful city in the world the bourbon gods have seen that our stores are stocked with cases of Pappy, Wellers and BTAC’s. But sssssh don’t tell anyone. And don’t even think about taking it home because TSA is under strict orders to confiscate it all. ;)

I don't expect you'll find anything here that isn't available where you live.  It's kind of weird where you'll be staying in that Bethesda is in Montgomery County which I believe is the only control county in Md. Doh!  But you're right on the border with DC which fully embraces capitalism, at least as far as liquor stores go. Harry can point you to his honey holes in DC.  I can only suggest the Costco which isn't near a Metro but will have some kick ass prices on booze.

Thanks I kind of assumed that there would be no magic place but I do enjoy the hunt and seeing how other states deal. I will keep you posted on how many bottles of Pappy I can sneak through!!

Well if you want a chance to taste some things you would otherwise not be able to and love spending money you can always go to Jack Rose!
