Looking for a specific bottle of Hudson Baby Bourbon

Hi everyone!

I'm hoping some of you can help an odd request or lead me in the right direction. 
My wife and I had our first child this year. She grew up around the Hudson River in New York, so the name Hudson was chosen. He was born on July 7th, 2017, or as I commonly reference it 7/7/17. 

One of the gifts she gave me for father's day was a bottle of Hudson Baby Bourbon, in which I really enjoy. I didn't open that bottle to celebrate until we returned home a few days later. 

While doing so, I couldn't help but notice the Year, Batch, and bottle on the back label. Which leads me to my inquiry; would anyone know how or where I could possibly obtain a bottle that is Year 2017 and Batch 7?  I've reached out to Tut Hill Town, and they can't guarantee where they were shipped.  It looks like my only option is to try and scour liquor stores across the nation.  I'm hoping to save it so that one day my son and I can enjoy it together. Thanks!

Welcome to SB, and cool idea.  I'd be happy to check around a few stores, and let you know.  

You might ask Tuthilltown who the distributor of Hudson products is in your area.  You can then reach out to them to ask if they will tell you what stores near you (expand the range as far as you wish to drive) that they've sold the HBB to.  Then, you can call these individual stores and ask to check their inventory.  

I'm assuming that THT confirmed that there has been a 7th batch produced this year?

What the hell kinda text is this? Looks like a homemade ransom note except it's extremely annoying on my 63 year old eyes and it makes my natural instincts to try and help, not.

Great idea!  Yes, they said they are on batch 14 currently.

Where are you located?  How far will you drive?  Are you in a state that allows commercial out-of-state sellers to ship to you (although if you tell us what state you are in, some of us probably know the answer to that so you don't have to look it up for us)?  I have seen HBB 750ml bottles in Montgomery County MD liquor stores (all the liquor stores in that Maryland county are run BY the county) but don't know what batch or batches they may have in stock but they have about 200 HBB 750mls and 154 HBB 375 mls on hand throughout their stores.  While I don't thknk you can email individual stores, here's the County's Liquor Dept. email - DLC@MontgomeryCountyMD.gov . In Washington DC, you might email your "highlighted note that drives some people crazy" to Sherry's on Connecticut Avenue NW  https://www.sherryswine.com/ and Magruders also on Connecticut Avenue https://www.magrudersofdc.com/ and ask them.  I think they ship but am not sure.

 

This being "The Season", one of them might check their inventory and accommodate you.

Thank you Harry!  This is fantastic info!

100 mile radius.  Probably further honestly.  I just looked it up regarding the state and it appears FL allows all alcohol to be shipped.  I'll follow up on how this goes.  Heck, I'll probably stick around for discussions when I have time too!

FWIW, if these are released "in order" as I expect they are, do a search for "Washington DC liquor stores" and note those with websites (a lot are small and don't have a web presence) and check around.  Those in Georgetown (M street through R street NW crossing 26th Street through, maybe, 44th Street NW), those downtown (14th through 26th ST NW crossing F ST through U Street NW), and those on Capital Hill (any store on Pennsylvania Ave SE or Martin Luther King St SE) are worth checking with.  Like sherry's which is near the big hotels, these stores have a larger turnover; hence some of them may have received Batch 7.  I've dealt with the wholesalers/distribtuors on a couple of charity things, and it is unlikely that they'd be able to help you find which retailers have Batch 7 so don't bother with them.

If you can't find it locally, wine searcher is a really great site, it will give you a huge list of stores all over the US that have it in stock: https://www.wine-searcher.com/find/tuthilltown+spirit+hudson+baby+bourbon+whisky+new+york+usa/1/usa - you can tell this site to show you the nearest stores to you as well.

 

First add it to the cart, and then see if they have a shipping estimate function in the cart page. Generally you will be able to enter your zip code here and it will tell you if they can ship to your state (some states have laws about shipping out of the state - so even if you live in a state where it can be shipped to you, that doesn't mean the store will be able to send it). If you find one that does, you could call or email the store to verify which batch they have before placing an order. Rinse and repeat until you find it it.

I'm in Tallahassee FL.  I would prefer the bourbon if at all possible. 

 

I'm going to begin searching again today.  As some of you know, time is limited with a baby!  Thanks for all the help so far.
