Recently discontinued Smooth Ambler bourbons and Rye.

  I have two 10 year Single Barrel bourbons from 2016 that I believe were discontinued.  Correct?  Any others discontinued from the last three years that you know of?

The 7 year bourbon was also discontinued, to my knowledge.

Just bought a 10 a week ago from a little shop I go to infrequently.  They didn't have it a couple months ago.  Sure it's all discontinued?

 

Also have reports of 10 and 7 on the other side of town at grocery stores.  Never shopped them, so no idea if they are Dusty Bottles or new deliveries.  Planning on grabbing some in the next few days...

I know of a local ish store with a private select incoming as well, though I dont know what the exact spirit specs are yet.

From what I understand the rye, 7 year and 10 year were discontinued but it was all qualified as potentially temporary. So maybe SA has gotten ahold of some more barrels.

I'm pretty sure they haven't announced that they would discontinue the Old Scout line. But I think it's widely known that they are low on sourced stock. They have been distilling their own juice for a few years so like Willett I think we can assume that they will be coming out with with more of their own own distillate products versus sourced going forward, as the market for sourcing barrels has gotten so much more difficult over recent years. While I've enjoyed many SAOS bottles I'm more interested in what they come up with on their own versus being just one of many MGP bottlers

I believe it is the SAOS 10 year single barrel that is discontinued not the SAOS 10 year juice.

The information on this subject can be found in a few previous threads. All ya' gotta do is use the search function. 

 

FWIW, I've recently seen SAOS 7, 10, 11, Contradiction and American Whiskey on the shelves at different stores around where I live. I even bought  a SAOS 7 bottled by Sarah.

Nope MGP is still churning out plenty of gallons that could potentially become SAOS or Bulliet or Belle Meade or your cousin's new "Craft" Bourbon. Single Barrels were still available, 7 year, 10 year, all of the Ryes and the store pick program were all halted but the goal was to resume at some point. I have a friend that works for their distributer in NJ and as of now nothing is available here except the "American Whiskey".  If you are trying to speculate that it might become valuable, which based on your other posts it seems like you might be doing, it's hard to imagine since there are so many other companies bottling the same sourced bourbon and Rye and while a lot of people do like SAOS many of them have been happily buying Belle Meade lately. I did see a Single Barrel Rye in NYC on the shelf for $200 but the same store had Redemption 7 year CS for $70 so that would seem the better course of action.

No idea if it’s discontinued but the scarcity could just be because Sarah has changed jobs or been on leave for a few months. When she’s back, bottle will ship again.

Le sigh.  My buddy in Kentucky still finds alot of the SAOS bourbon barrel picks.  I was super sad when they discontinued the programs.  My local had 3 different barrels of 7-8yr bourbon from 2014 that were each great.  I stocked up when they were running out although I traded about as many as I kept.  Price was like 49.99 on sale and then periodic 20% off sales.

 

I bought a few of the lsat two barrels of CS Rye that were offered to me and a few of the 7yrs.  Down to 1 remaining of each.  I think the CS ryes were a little more pricey but maybe like 55-65 bucks?

 

Recently did a blind rye SBS and the Redemption 7yr finished very high for all of us and definitely above the SAOS blind.  I recently stocked up on the Redemption at last 20% off sale and finally opened my batch1 10 year.  Good stuff

Got several SAOS bottles today, all Sarah.  They were all 2015 or 2016, so the discontinue (temp or permanent) may be true.  I haven't filtered through the searched SAOS threads to find the real story yet...  Got SmB 10, SiB10, SiB11.
