Jfletchgu
I have a LS owner let me know he just got a bottle in. He has it listed for $100. From reading past posts and with the current bourbon climate that appears to be a fair price. What is the retail price for ORVW10 and for those that have had it is it worth it. Fishin49er
Im pretty sure retail is $60 for ORVW10. I actually won the chance to buy one in a local lottery. I haven't cracked it open yet but I paid $80.
Whiskeythink.com
I generally see it at $80-100 (& of course way way more), so you should probable jump on that one while you can.
Nm0369
Retail is $70-80. I wouldn't pass at $100...reviews are good and you might not have another opportunity.
CardsandBourbon
If you don't want it tell me where in Tennessee it is and I'll drive down from Kentucky and grab it.

This is pretty accurate in my world. I have had a couple glasses of it and found it to be a very good wheater, more complex than weller 12. I'm trying to find a bottle myself
Jfletchgu
ohh Im pretty confident I'll be picking it up tommorow (assumming he hasn't sold it by then). I would get it tonight, but its 1.5 hours away and I won't be in the area till tommorow. Im going to gently see if he will come down a little on the price (Ill be spending a good amount in there), but if not Ill still pick it up for 100. EarthQuake
$100 is an easy buy for ORVW10, if you saw it in the wild it would probably be closer to $350. If he's holding it for you and offering it at that close to retail the last thing I would do is bust his balls haggling with him on price.

Yeah your right...I'll just give the man his money and walk out with my bottle trying not to giggle like a school girl. Especially since I have struck out up to this point in LE season.
lcpfratn
I've been fortunate and I've been able to find a few bottles of ORVW10 at retail prices ($65-$80) the last few years, but I'd definitely be willing to pay $100, and probably a bit more, if I couldn't find it cheaper. It is a very good bourbon that will hopefully become more readily available in a few years, but for now you should pony up the $100 and get your first bottle. JoeTerp
VA ABC has it for $59.99 in the lottery. I would definitely buy it for $100, but I think that's mainly because I've never tried and would be interested.
Bbstout
It would be hard for me to pass at that price but although I am jealous of of those that find ORVW10 or Pappy 15 at retail, the multiple bottles of RY10yr I picked up for $45 dulls the pain. Haven't had a bad barrel yet and it's only 7 proof lower.
starhopper
They're $399 here in Middle Georgia - so buy it and thank the bourbon Gods as you leave the store.
GeeTen
MSRP for ORVW10 is $89.97 - pick it up sooner rather than later for $100 and count your lucky stars. JMHO!!!
Special Reserve
With a MSRP of $90, $100 is an easy buy if you're in the marketplace. Unfortunately I remember when the MSRP was $35 and that was also the sale price.
NYCBourbon
Definitely buy it at $100, I'd kill to grab one at that price.

JMHO!!! Gee, you are shopping at the wrong stores in NJ one of our local chains is $68 if you are lucky enough to be drawn for ORVW in their lotto. They have lots of locations which I will PM you.

Yeah! ...And, I recall talking myself into a bottle (wasn't easy) at $5 over ($40). I didn't regret it. ...Especially when a few months later I saw (in the same store) a bottle listed for $49.95! A sign of the times doing what they do: Change!
Jfletchgu
Well you enablers talked me into it (and I'm glad you did). I was excited to add this bottle to the family last night. Now all I have to do is figure out a way to sneak the new bottle (and two baby saz bottles) into the house without my wife noticing.
Clueby
Old Rip is a pretty distinctive looking label. Might be hard to hide!
Richnimrod
For no particular reason and drifting a bit, I know, I offer this... I almost tossed an empty this afternoon of Old Rip 10. It was one of the old wide body/long neck ones. I caught myself before the recycle collection truck came, though, and ran out and grabbed it back up. Am I being anal, paranoid even, to be a bit leery about tossing such an empty (not wishing to help some scammer)? Anyway, I ran out and rescued it, and put it in a closet, for now at least. What say y'all?

What say y'all? 1000 years ago while in grad school I worked in a bar (well, the kitchen of a bar). We broke every empty spirits bottle. Nowadays as a private citizen, I just heavily deface the labels of empty rarities I pitch. But that's just me. Edit - Just thought about dragging those glass bins into the alley. They were heavy and stinky. Edited December 16, 2017 by Harry in WashDC yet another passing thought

Yeah, breaking the bottles would be best; but, the contractor that does recycling for our city doesn't want broken glass. In fact if one has broken glass to dispose of, the recommendation is to wrap it carefully and tape it securely closed, then mark the package as 'Broken Glass', before placing it in the trash (not the recycling bin). Rather more trouble than I typically go to unless absolutely necessary. Still, might be the thing to do, I suppose.

IIRC, we had a contractor who picked it up, and it had to be in a marked, dedicated bin. How about soaking the labels off and, say, puttoing them on card stock and making putting them in small frames or even making a collage or maybe gluing them to a trash can or otherwise covering them with lucite and making a bar? ASIDE - How far off the thread has THIS gone???? I got to get over this cold. It's affecting my concentration.
