Really need a "what bourbon are you looking forward to enjoying?" thread today. Been dual tasking with -quite literally- one keyboard each hand all day. Now off to teach a 3-hour class... Tonight I open that ECBP batch 8.

You should start that thread! I would add to it probably each day while I'm at work, waiting to get off

Cheers!

I'm having a pour or two of the "leftovers" from my 2018 Weller Blend. :P

CEHT SmB tonight. Got a fleeting hint of caramel apple on the nose tonight. Whoa, where'd that come from? Very interesting discovery. Good stuff!

Having some of the new WTRB 116.8 tonight. I was nervous about the higher proof but it's a good pour. I like it better then the last barrel proof (112.?).

Cooking some pork steaks also...

And ECBP it is. To be honest, I am not exactly in the right mindset to enjoy the nuances of this fine spirit tonight, but the barrel-proof burn in my thrashed-from-speaking-3-hours-straight throat is priceless.

Some GBS RRSB last night followed by an SB blend to close out the night.

My amazing wife got Pappy 15 for me for christmas... I've only had a couple ounces from the bottle. Pappy 15 is what got me crazy about bourbon back when you would see it on store shelves.

You’re maybe right about the pic, but your pour is with no doubt tastier than mine, the 15yo is for me the best of the line up, I still have to try the rye though, but I don’t think it will happened. Enjoy!

Ps : if I had to choose between a good pic or a great pour, I’ll go for the great pour ;-)

Cheers!

I actually liked the movie.  Not as much as the first one but it was still entertaining.

I love Michters 10yr! It's for me like butter rum lifesavers.

The first one was great, i loved it. Found the sequel a little boring, lots of great actors though.

Wanted to do this. Darn as I got into these I felt like the Russel Reserve SIB store pick was like bringing a gun to a knife fight, blew away the older bottling of WT101 and the new bottling of WT101.

The nose on the new and old WT101 was similar but the mouthfeel/palate was way better on the older bottle. The new bottle also had an odd finish, hopefully not from the plastic bottle.

I've found this one to be kind of over oaked most of the time, for whatever reason tonight I thought that's what I might be in the mood for and to be honest it's kind of working.

I can’t recall ever having an over-oaked FR store selection, but I also haven’t had too many as old as that one!

I, too am enjoying a FR PS. This is the one I helped select several months ago and it’s tasting excellent tonight. It was in the barrel 10y and 8m, so no slouch in the age department, and it has developed some really nice red berry and cedar notes on both the nose and palate.

Had a Weller SR and Cocchi vermouth Manhattan. Delicious.

Sipping a Woodland Wine Merchant store select Eagle Rare now. Glad I bought two bottles.
