I was gifted a bottle of Cooper's Mark Bourbon for Christmas.  I've been enjoying it.  So far, it reminds me of Four Roses yellow label or Small Batch more than anything.  I did a quick Google search.  That didn't give me much information.

My question is - does anyone have any ideas about the source?

The only state I can find listed on the label is that it is produced in MN.  According to TTB rules the state of the distiller should be on the label.  So, this was either distilled in MN, or the label is wrong.

Only place I've ever seen it is at one of our local chains (Bottle King) they have a small batch and some flavored stuff IIRC but I've never taken that close of a look. Clearly the state of distillation should be listed but it's not surprising when something slips through the ever diligent TTB.

Thanks for the link Joe.

I guess the one guy really hated it.  I think it's ok, but a bit of a mystery.  There is no age statement on the label.  My guess is at least 4 years old, made by one of the major distillers.  I seriously doubt distilled in MN.

I believe they purchase whiskey and not distill or barrel it.

The bottle I had was not impressive, mostly strong alcohol flavor, rougher than most bargain whiskey I drink of similar price
