Schultz24
We have quite a bit of this on the shelf here for about $30+. With all of the age statements going away, just wondering if I should stock up. What are your opinions on it? Thanks!
DeepCover
Buy a bottle and try it. It's a nice pour. I don't suggest stocking up until you've tried it and decided it's worth it.
Bourbon....Neat!
Im drinking it as we speak. I think it is a great pour for the price ($26.99 in my area). I always keep a few bottles around. I don't know about stocking up though.
FasterHorses
Did not like it. Wouldn't buy again.
JCwhammie
It’s one of my 4 favorite ~$30 bottles (along with 4R SiB, RR10, and ER10)
flahute
It's very good and a great value. Beware of single barrel variation so don't stock up unless you know you like that barrel.

Keep in mind too that since its a single barrel, every bottle tastes different. My last bottle tasted like egg nog. My current one is very brown sugar and caramel. Really enjoyed both. Schultz24
Thanks for all of the comments so far! I will have to give some a try to see if it is worth it to grab a few more before they lose the age statement....
ratcheer
I haven't had it for a long time, but I always enjoyed it when it was available here. Tim
EarthQuake
If you're a fan of Heaven Hill it's a safe bet that you'll like Henry McKenna. Personally I like HMK a bit more than Elijah Craig NAS. Though I'm not a big fan of HH in general, so I would generally grab an Eagle Rare instead. NDN98
It is definitely in my wheelhouse. Bought another bottle the other day and will crack it open soon. It not my favorite bourbon of all time, but definitely a good one and a great value, in my opinion. Edited December 30, 2017 by NDN98
dcbt
It's good, but it's also nice to have a screw-top bottle for that silent pour when needed...
jvd99
For a 10 year age statement, its a great value and tastes good too. Can't go wrong dropping $30 to find out
Radioyada
I found it to be ok. Not a bottle I will keep around at all times, but not against purchasing another at some point. There are just others I like better around that price point.
Kyjd75
I think it is really good, and I buy it from time to time. For the price it is hard to beat.

I will have to give some a try to see if it is worth it to grab a few more before they lose the age statement.... A quick search on SB for this should turn up several topics discussing HMcK 10yr BIB and its variability. Most of them include my oft-repeated story which follows. At $30, I sometimes liked it but, because of the variability barrel to barrel, usually passed and spent the money on something I was "sure" of. THEN, I bought one when HMcK 10yr SiB was featured here as a Bottle of the Month or on Virtual Bottle Tasting or some such. THAT ONE was so special, I literally drove from store to store and bought every bottle with the same barrel number on it. I have NEVER been sorry I geeked out on that barrel. Since that experience, I occasionally buy JUST ONE then taste it in the parking lot. Usually, I don't buy more. BUT, every once in awhile, I hit another honey. I now limit myself to no more than six of one barrel. Actual storage problems and possible liver damage are issues. Plus, there's so much other really good bourbon out there that I can't love just one, child of the 1960s that I am (well, legally able to drink back then, so . . .). Oh, yeah, then there's that other, more recent, thread discussing how many of us carry cups or glasses in our cars and where do we get such cups and glasses so we can taste stuff we buy in the parking lot in case we want to go back in and buy more. As Squire's tag says, We're bourbon geeks. It's what we do.
cdcdguy
I just bought some from barrel 3188. For around 30 bucks, I think it's very good, but as others have said it may vary from barrel to barrel.
WhereIsMyOldAccount
It's a good value and I always pick it over Old Ezra as it's typically only $3 more. However I do like 4RSmB and Eagle Rare more at this price point.
lcpfratn
It’s right up there with ER10 from a value standpoint, and if you find a honey barrel as Harry discussed, it’s a phenomenal value. I still have several bottles from the last great barrel that I found, so I haven’t bought any in a while, but it’s one of my favorite daily pour bourbons. Cornfed12
Did a tasting of this and enjoyed it, picked up a bottle. Great 10 yr for the price
Stump1998
This reminds me I need to pick up another bottle. I finished off my last one a couple weeks ago.
Malakai432
I wasn't a big fan of it but it definitely wasn't bad, especially for the price. It has a black tea like flavor to it kind of like JR, at least the bottle I had did. For the price though it's worthy of a pick up.

For the age statement and the quality it is a very nice price.
Mako254
Single barrels can vary but as a general rule, abso damn lutely.
kevinbrink
I have bought exactly 1 dud batch out of some number over 5 over the years, and like others when I found one I liked I bought a couple reserves. The one that was a dud to me I found over oaked and ended up blending it with some younger BIB's it was great for that purpose.
