cdcdguy
I would like to get some of your ideas and opinions. I know a few on here who blend this bourbon with that. I was drinking Distiller's Cut last night. I really want to like this one, but the finish is just too quick for me. I looked over at the bar and spotted another recent buy. Henry McKenna 10 BIB. It has a nice long finish. Hmm. So I put a quarter shot in with a shot of the Beam. It was almost beautiful! And all the way through. Tasted like a 35 dollar bottle of bourbon. Did I just get lucky on the first try? I mean, scotch is often blended to hide flaws. Now I am thinking. I don't like high rye bourbons, but what if I splashed a bit of wheated in there? Would the flavors fight or meld? I am guessing it would be pointless to mix RHF with Blantons since they are so much alike. When I blend, am I bringing a lower bourbon up or just bringing a good bourbon down? Edited December 30, 2017 by cdcdguy

Those sound like a good pairing for a blend, I often blend ER and HM10 and while that would be clearly quite different I see where they compliment each other. Only thing I have mixed the JBDC into is Bookers.
