cdcdguy
Price of course subjective. For me Blanton's. Not been on the shelves here for a couple years. Local manager can get it for me. Paying 62.00. This bourbon, may not be powerful or complex for some, but to me extremely well balanced. I actually know people that don't really like bourbon but will drink this. Favorite current cheap. EW BIB. 13.00. I love this stuff! While one dimensional, it's nice and tastes well made. Is it me or is this amazing for the money?
kevinbrink
I'm going to go with easily attainable stuff here so Bookers/WT101
Radioyada
Favorite “inexpensive” bourbon is Eagle rare. Favorite costly bourbon is CEHT BP.
jshleffar
Think I'd have to go with Eagle rare for inexpensive and Stagg for expensive, if we're leaving out the ridiculously hard to get stuff then I'd go for CEHT 4 grain.
EarthQuake
Eagle Rare for the cheap pick as well. Barterhouse for expensive assuming we're sticking to reasonably attainable bottles. Edited January 4, 2018 by EarthQuake

mortre
I generally don't favor cheap bourbon's, but I don't drink in high enough quantity for it to be an issue. JD/JB/MM I actively dislike, WT101 is the only sub $20 bourbon that I've found palatable. That list is also the still total of all the sub $20 bourbon's I've tried. I just picked up my first bottle of Buffalo Trace yesterday and it hasn't impressed me. That was the first pour of a new bottle so I'm not going to count it out yet. I started the well with a FR OESQ@120 proof and ECBP, so that could explain why I found it so boring and overly sweet. Hopefully it will grow on me as it oxidizes. As to expensive bourbon, that's hard to choose. RRSiB, ECBP, Stagg Jr, WTKS are all very good. There is something to be said for splitting the middle as well, FRSiB and Rare Breed both impressed me and are only about $5 or $10 dollars more than Buffalo Trace/Eagle Rare.Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk

musekatcher
I'll go with Blanton's for most expensive also, but haven't found it on shelves in two years. In the sub $15 category, I'll go with EWBIB as well, EW1783 1st alternate, with VOB90 as a backup and honorable mention to VB. My standard median reference bourbon is OFS. elmossle
Favorite would be any BTAC I can lay my hands on. Cheap would be HH6yrBIB. Always drinks outside of its price range.
scratchline
A couple of days ago, I came across an old label bottle of WT 101. By old label I mean the one from around 2010. Turkey in profile and in color. I realized I hadn't had any standard issue Turkey for a long time so I picked it up. Last night Jenny and I gave it a try. I've always considered Wild Turkey 101 to be the benchmark for bourbon and my opinion was reconfirmed by this bottle. It tastes like...bourbon! Rock solid to my palate. Price and proof are good. The high end pick is tougher. Strictly in terms of where the bulk of my whiskey budget has gone in the last two years, I'll have to say Four Roses Single Barrel Private Selection. I've purchased a lot of "Q" bottles recently and whenever I come across a bottle of any recipe, I take a look and think about buying. When the blizzard rolls through tomorrow I have bottles of both open and ready for pouring. Shouldn't be so bad! -Mike Edited January 4, 2018 by scratchline

EWBIB is a nice substitute.
CB.
My favorite cheaper bourbon is buffalo trace. My favorite attainable cheap bourbon is wt101 (AL so BT products are non existent). Attainable higher cost point would go to knob creek SB(esp store select). Rare breed and bakers are right there with it.

graftonbc1
EC BP is the more expensive bourbon that I will pick up each time I come across it. At the lower end of my scale are EC, Knob Creek, and 1792.
Surtur
Taking the phrase “cheap” as my every day pour, WT101 for sure. While not incredibly expensive, Four Roses Single Barrel is my favorite mid to upper shelf bourbon that is readily available. I suppose that would also include private selections, none of which I’ve ever had much of a bad word against
Saul_cooperstein
Absolutely WT101 / ECBP... although if include secondary market access id choose 80s/early 90s WT8/101 over the ECBP
emr454
EWBiB/ECBP is my first thought, but I could easily sub in WT101 for the inexpensive option, and Booker's for the high dollar bottle. With all the options available it's too hard to choose. If I could ever get my hands on HH6BiB I'd love to do a sbs with EWBiB.
Richnimrod
Wow. This a very tough question to answer.... Depending upon mood, and taste-buddies preference of the day (moment?), my several low-cost faves will include OGD BIB or 114, Old Weller Antique or WSR, Buffalo Trace, Heaven Hill BIB 6-year, Early Times BIB, and Wild Turkey 101. (Honorable mention for total satisfaction; but slightly higher cost, goes to a GBS pick of Russll'e Reserve Sm. Batch S.B. from a couple years ago.) Top Shelf faves currently include William Larue Weller (any), Wild Turkey Decades, William Heavenhill, and Four Roses Al Young Small Batch. The vast array of quality Bourbons available currently (or recently) in all price categories is a an embarrassment of riches for those of us that enjoy great pours ....often at great prices. Mako254
Old Forester Sig for a sub $25 pick. My ‘wheelhouse’ bourbons are generally 100-110 proof, 8-12 years old, preferably single barrel. Currently that means lots of RRSiB store picks and Four Roses store picks.
miller542
JB Distiller's Cut and Booker's. Can you tell I'm a Beam fan??? or WT101 and ECBP or OGD114 and Stagg Jr. Lots of great bourbon out there right now.

rjg1701
Wow, this is tricky. I love ER10, but not sure it quite dips into proper cheep territory. OF Signature and BT are probably closest for me. On the expensive side have to echo calls for ECBP. While not strictly bourbon, also a huge fan of the barrel proof Jack Daniel's offering.
