I'm envious...I haven't seen a bottle of this anywhere.

How do you find this one differs from the CEHT SiB or SmB?

It tastes younger than the others, but is slightly sweeter to me

Thanks.  I wonder what the age on this is?  Perhaps the wheat component contributes the added sweetness?

On BT's website it says 12 years old.

It sure did not taste like it, but that could have been just me.  Maybe the lunch we had right before the tasting affected everything.  The other person that had a glass liked it, but not as much as the small batch or the single barrel.

Most likely I will not be purchasing another bottle even at retail price.  I would rather have two bottles of the small batch instead.

Couldn't agree more!

The small batch is fantastic.

Walking from work to home today, a wild turkey landed pretty much right on top of me and nearly gave me a heart attack. Conveniently, I took it as a sign.

Going cheap tonight with the standard McKenna. I've never tried it.

That one is not horrible, but it's nothing like its older brother, and there are similarly priced options that are better choices...at least for me.

I'd say you're absolutely right... After trying it I'd say it tastes like slightly watered down and younger EWB.  If EWB runs circles around you...well...it's obviously not worth trying again.  I should have known better than to give an 80 proofer a shot.  Oh well... It was only $11.99 for a Liter.

I've had my eye on this one for awhile.  Haven't been able to pull the trigger yet.  Thoughts on it?

Look at it this way.....you've got a perfectly good bottle to use for any bourbon and coke people who stop by

That's a good point, itd hardly be noticeable in a bourbon and coke and thats the kind of bourbon and coke a certain friend of mine would appreciate, lol.  As for my thoughts on it MikeyD, it has hardly any nose and hardly any flavor other than just a subtle general bourbon flavor.  It's thin and has no finish... Even EWB is a mighty strong pour in comparison to it as I tasted them side by side.  A bourbon like OGD BiB or WT101 is so much more superior for hardly any more money it's ridiculous.

I opened a bottle of 4R Small Batch today. I haven't drank anything from 4R  in many months and was pleasantly surprised at how much flavor it had in a modestly priced bottle. I 'd say its good everyday kind of bourbon to keep around the house.

Pouring 100ml bottles for my upcoming trip  to Poland. Cracked a fresh W107, my Fathers day RHF and the recently purchased Rare Breed. Not pictured but also opened a RRSiB Binny’s pick.

100ml is the carry on limit. Will drink these until I find a bottle to open there. And may refill if I have a partial empty to bring home.

Having been talked into a bottle of Yellowstone Select KSBW a couple months ago (93-proof), which was presented in it's snazzy tube-carton, and came at a cost of about $50 OTD, I finally decided to open 'er up and do a taste.

At first blush, I found it to offer a rather 'untypical' amount of citrus-y smell along with the other more usual Bourbon-type aromas, and a slight peanut-y note that floated under the other stuff; telling me it likely contained at least some (probably all) Beam distillate.     I wasn't initially a fan of the somewhat slick, oily mouthfeel, or the flavors that said to my taste buddies; "A little more malted barley than needed".     But, as I worked through the pour, I began to dislike that mouthfeel and barley note rather less and less, as the spices began to assert a bit more influence.    I said to myself; "Self! This might be worth pouring again: neat, rather than being consigned to the 'high-ball' shelf.    By the time I finished the pour around 3/4 of an hour later, I'd decide to definitely keep it in the rotation for further investigation, and indeed; enjoyment.

Anyone else have much to say about Yellowstone Select?

I like it, I agree that flavor wise it definitely seems it is heavy on the Beam liquid but for me that is generally a plus. I don't pick it up a lot because the price is all over the place but there is store by my brother's house in upstate NY that typically has it for $33 so I tend to buy it when I am up there. At $50 I would just save a couple bucks and buy Baker's which I like more but under $35 it's a real winner for me.

Opened this one over the weekend, I like it, fairly balanced to me for a port finish.

Opened an old AS9Yr.  KC today.

Easy drinking @100p compared to the caution required of the single barrels @ 120p.  I'm enjoying it.

Son.

This one delivers. The juice Eddie Russell

is putting out in the RRsib line is phenomenal.

Popped the top on a C917 tonight. First time for me and the first pour is pretty darn tasty. Looking forward to exploring this one some more.

First bourbon I bought (well I bought 4 at once, but this was the first I picked from the shelf), first I opened, tasted, and loved. I've been looking forward to the day I am satisfied with my exploration and just go buy another bottle of this, but now I'm reminded that day's never going to come. I'll just go buy one tomorrow.

I opened a standard KC, my first of the new NAS variety.  Has that classic KC flavor profile but I can taste the "young-ness" in it.  Granted within the Knob Creek line, I've been drinking the single barrel exclusively the past few years so I'm spoiled.  As long as the single barrel version keeps its 9 year age statement at only $10 more, I don't plan on buying another one of these.  But I'd still grab a 9 yr version of the 100 proofer when I see them.
