I thought the same thing when I saw that that the special release Longbranch was going to be 8 yr age stated @ $40. They have to be catching up a little.

I just picked up my first WT101 bottle after buying many others over the past 4 months.  Wow what a great tasting bourbon.  $17 for a fifth and easily better than many I paid more than twice that for.

H by my ciphering.

Thanks, Mako.  I spent a half hour reading that link and had no idea what I was reading.  Blame the JB Distillers Cut that kept singing to me.  WT 101 @ 7-10 years should hit my sweet spot.  We'll see.

so that would be LL/G............?

I believe G is 2018 because "The first letter after the slash corresponds to the year of bottling, where “C” corresponds to 2014, “D” corresponds to 2015, “E” corresponds to 2016, etc. "

Makes sense. I was off.

Ah, poop!  You mean I have to try to read the laser code and figure out if it has a "G" OR an "H"?  I'm going to have a bunker full of almost but not quite bottles.  Which is it G or H?????

EDIT - Note to self - put the magnifying glass in the trunk.

As a nurse, I always have alcohol

pads everywhere. I rub the laser code with a pad and then use my phone flashlight. Best way I have found to read a code.

I hear ya Harry. It's a bitch getting the transitional bifocals focused enough to tell what's what

Now, THAT's a great hint.  We keep a box of Wash'n'Dry pads in the car.  I can slip some of those single wipe alcohol packets in there.  THANKS.

That makes too much sense! Would certainly make things easier for us though

LOL Rich, obviously it isn't. I can't help but wonder if they're afraid the uninformed would think that's an expiration date.

That would probably make dusty hunting a lot more productive. [emoji57]

You reckon the age statement will make a return?

We can only hope. It isn’t on the Russells end but apparently Campari. Hopefully in the future stocks will return to levels that allow age stated 8yr 101.

I would argue that any age statement over 4 years would give it some additional credibility and I dare say more "cachet".

This also maybe explains why you can buy a handle of WT101 at Macadoodles for $23 plus change right now.

The word I heard was the 7-10 year is being batched now so the bottles aren’t on shelves yet.
