EarthQuake
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I created an excel sheet to figure out how much alcohol various pours of different proof Bourbon have. I've included beer and wine too, as my wife drinks a lot of beer and I thought it was interesting with some of the high proof craft beer out there these days. I also added calories, just in case you're on a diet. 1.0 in the fields = one serving, which is typically 14 grams of alcohol or 1.5 oz of 80 proof booze, 12 oz of 5% beer, or 5 oz of 12% wine. Amusingly, 2 oz of George T Stagg 2016 at 144 proof is roughly equivalent to half a bottle of wine.
Bob_Loblaw
Wow. This is nerdy. I love it! Can I PM you for an emailed copy? ? Edited April 18, 2018 by Bob_Loblaw
Spade
This is really useful. I know I personally have always had a sense of this but it's great to see it laid out so clearly. Reminds me of a while back when I had "two glasses" of Booker's and felt kind of hammered — they were 2 oz pours so it was really like I'd had almost a bottle of wine. bayouredd
This was very thoughtful; up until the point of adding a calorie line... Shame, shame, shame...
