JW Dant Charcoal Perfected Whiskey now a blend...

This has been my goto bottle for 20 years.  I bought a bottle a few days ago and it was trash - they had removed the word Whiskey in large font  from the bottle and added "blended whiskey with artificial flavor and colors" in small font.

 

I know most people could care less but at $9 a fifth in MS it was a heck of a bargain.   Not sure if they've discontinued the BIB version.

Are you talking about the 80 proof version? Do you have a picture of the bottle?

Just got word from HH that JWD BIB is not going away. Don't know if it's available in your area, but look for that one and avoid the blended version at all costs!

It's a shame that Charcoal Perfected is going away.    Both of these bottles have the same UPC.   My liquor store guy had no clue, he was kinda hot about it - it wasn't what he'd ordered, if you  know what I mean.

 

I can get the BiB.    It's $12 a fifth, which is a bargain also.

 

I've got about a half a case of the 80 proof put away for special occasions.  

 

It's getting bad when they're doing away with the cheap whiskey.
