It seems like just about everything has a "National" day so why not bourbon? 14 June 2018 is designated as this year's celebration day. I'm planning on buying a specialty bottle, something that's above my usual spending boundaries for my 4 PM Happy Hour toast. Does anyone else have any interest in raising a glass to our native American spirit? If so, what are your plans?

Hey sounds like a plan.

I think I will do the same. I've had my eye on Henry McKenna 10 year single barrel BIB at my local Total Wine so I may pick that up if it's a good one. Or maybe something more expensive. Or heck maybe just a simple bottle of my favorite, Buffalo Trace. I don't know, in some ways price doesn't always equal specialness!

I'm in.  I haven't revisited that EC18 since we sampled it last winter.  I think it deserves a sampling on it's own, instead of in the company it shared last time- Pappy, William L, and George T.

What are you planning to shop for, PG?

People do say go big or go home so I'm probably going to look at the higher proof bottles like Stagg Jr, RRSiB, or another ECBP if any of this year's release can be found. Of course, I could be persuaded to buy one of those KCSPs if they show up in time. They're all "if you snooze, you lose" bottles so timing will count.

I'll raise a glass of WT 101 to celebrate. Inexpensive, unpretentious, and delicious,

Henry McKenna BiB is a good one.

I’ll probably have several small pours from each of the majors in my collection. A good day to pay tribute to them all.

This is pure gold and it's my new mantra when it comes to bourbon.

Cheers!  @Postal Grunt, what did you decide on?

ECBP C917, it's  a fun visit into the world of high octane bourbon.
